Many positive, comprehensive results

Located in a coastal location, Nghi Tan ward has a seaport and anchorage area - a busy place for domestic and international ships to enter and exit. Along with the development of the marine economy, the ward Party Committee has led and directed the mobilization of people to participate in the development of diverse industries. Types of services and small-scale industries are developing rapidly.

The entire ward currently has about 690 individual business households, with an income of 100 - 120 million VND/household/year. In particular, Nghi Tan people have known how to promote the existing advantages of the locality, investing in building traditional industries that bring high economic efficiency, especially the seafood preservation and processing industry.

In the ward, there are currently 23 households processing and preserving frozen seafood with 23 freezers and 42 storage warehouses, annual output reaching 8,000 - 9,000 tons and creating jobs for more than 120 permanent workers and over 400 seasonal workers, with an average income of 60 - 120 million VND/person/year.

In addition, in the ward, there are 42 boats with capacity under 60 CV participating in exploitation, the total number of workers participating in aquaculture and seafood exploitation is 150 people, the annual exploitation output is from 750 - 800 tons, the total production value is estimated at 50 - 60 billion VND. Besides, in recent years, Nghi Tan has had more than 1,300 workers exported to different countries, bringing tens of billions of VND to Nghi Tan every year. The activities of the ward's people's credit fund have achieved many results, contributing positively to the local economic development.

Economic development is the premise for the locality to mobilize resources to invest in infrastructure construction. During the 2020-2025 term, the ward has built 11 projects with a total amount of nearly 48 billion VND, notably: Ruong hamlet drainage ditch, block 5; 3-storey school building with 9 primary school rooms; renovation of the headmaster's house, 2-storey school building with 4 rooms, upgrading the kindergarten yard; upgrading and renovating the ward People's Committee meeting room; repairing the Martyrs' Memorial; upgrading the block 3 cultural house; starting construction of the project: Administrative center area, cultural house, ward stadium.

In particular, the ward has well implemented the work of promoting internal resources with the motto of the State and the People working together. From 2020 to 2025, it has mobilized internal resources from the people with a total mobilized amount of nearly 7.3 billion VND.

In addition, with the support of nearly 1,600 tons of cement from the State, the people have built 80 roads and 17 ditches in residential areas. Up to now, 100% of the internal traffic routes have been concreted and paved; the drainage system has been basically completed. The modern urban space with new traffic routes, wide and beautiful asphalt, ward cultural houses and residential groups, schools have been invested in and built spaciously, the people's lives are prosperous and happy, many households are well-off and rich, the urban face has been formed and exists.

Building a ward that meets civilized urban standards

Along with economic development to improve people's lives, the cultural and social fields have received due investment from the ward, with many positive changes, meeting the people's cultural enjoyment needs. The ward successfully organized the Van Loc Temple Festival every three years; the second and third flower lantern festivals; organized the 30th anniversary of the ward's founding; participated in cultural and artistic activities - sports and physical training with many encouraging results. The rate of cultural families at the beginning of the ward's term reached 82%, at the end of the term reached 90%; 6/7 blocks achieved the title of cultural block, accounting for 85.7%; built and recognized 4 cultural families.

Education and training work has achieved many important results, school facilities have been invested in and built solidly and synchronously; the quality of teaching and learning has been significantly improved. Up to now, 3/3 schools have been recognized as meeting national standards (primary schools and kindergartens meeting level 2 standards, secondary schools meeting level 1 standards). Nghi Tan is known as a land with a tradition of studiousness, always a bright spot in education of Cua Lo town (old). Health care for people, population, families, and children has always been given attention and care, maintaining the ward meeting national standards on health in the period 2020-2025.

Poverty reduction work has been implemented vigorously and achieved positive results. Nghi Tan Ward is the ward with the largest number of poor and near-poor households in the old town of Cua Lo (38 poor households, 164 near-poor households).

During the term, the ward actively mobilized support for building and repairing houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties, and supported the repair and construction of 20 new houses for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in the area worth 1.5 billion VND; in addition, policies to support livelihood models were widely implemented, social security was ensured, thanks to which the number of poor and near-poor households decreased sharply. To date, the number of poor households has decreased to 11 households, and the number of near-poor households has decreased to 107 households.

National defense and security continued to be strengthened and maintained, security and order were ensured. The organization of exercises in the combat defense area achieved excellent results, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment serving the exercise. Directing administrative reform work, creating the most favorable environment for citizens in the fields of production and business.

At the same time, the work of building the Party and the political system in terms of politics, ideology, organization, ethics and cadres continues to be innovated and improved in quality. The work of cadre planning is given attention; the work of rotating, mobilizing, and electing additional personnel of the Party and People's Councils is effectively implemented, with young, qualified and capable personnel. The leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members are constantly improved; the direction and administration of the government has many innovations, effectiveness and efficiency.

The position, role and activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have been promoted; the great national unity bloc; and the religious and educational sectors have been strengthened, meeting the requirements of political tasks and having a positive and comprehensive impact on social life. The Party Committee has been annually classified as having fulfilled its tasks well or better, of which one year it has fulfilled its tasks excellently (2020).

Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, Nghi Tan Ward Party Committee is facing new opportunities: Inheriting achievements and lessons learned after 30 years of construction and development, receiving effective attention and support from Vinh City. In addition, the socio-economic situation of the ward is gradually stabilizing, many large works and projects in the area are put into use, the lives of the majority of residents in many aspects are improved, political security, social order and safety continue to be stable, creating conditions for investment and development. The ward's cadres are united, unified and highly determined; the people are assured and trust in the leadership of the Party.

However, Nghi Tan is a small area with a large population, high population density, unemployment and unstable employment, leading to the risk of increasing social evils in the area. Investment resources in the ward are limited; although the technical infrastructure has been improved, it still does not meet the development requirements,...

That requires that in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Ward Party Committee needs to focus on leading and organizing the implementation of goals, tasks and solutions to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee, the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of the government, innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, build the great national unity bloc, build a strong political system. Create a favorable environment to attract all resources to invest in building infrastructure to gradually improve, in order to build Nghi Tan ward into a ward that meets civilized urban standards.

Believing that, with the solidarity, unity, efforts and high determination of the entire political system of cadres, party members and people of the whole ward, with the solutions proposed in the new term 2025 - 2030, will be the driving force for Nghi Tan Ward Party Committee to lead the comprehensive and successful implementation of the targets set out in the Resolution of the 7th Ward Party Congress.
