General Do Ba Ty offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs
On July 24, General Do Ba Ty - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the 14th National Assembly, former Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, former Deputy Minister of National Defense, visited and offered flowers and incense at the Kim Lien Special National Historical Relic Site, Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site and the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; Colonel Tran Vo Viet - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command.

In the sacred atmosphere at the Kim Lien National Historical Site, General Do Ba Ty respectfully offered incense, expressing his infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of our Party and People; an outstanding activist in the international communist and workers' movement; a national liberation hero, an outstanding cultural celebrity. Offering incense and flowers to commemorate him, General Do Ba Ty and the members of the delegation vowed to forever study and follow his noble ideology, morality and style.

Next, the delegation offered incense and flowers at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site - a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery.
During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon was the place where hundreds of thousands of young people crossed Truong Son to save the country. Young men and women in their late teens and early twenties went into the fire with optimism and responsibility to protect the Fatherland. 1,240 outstanding sons of the nation fell on this legendary road, typified by the heroic sacrifice of 13 young volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.
General Do Ba Ty and his fellow comrades expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the great contributions of the outstanding people who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification. The delegation pledged to be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, and the People, to continue to strive, and to unite with the entire Party and people to build an increasingly prosperous, strong, and civilized country.
The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of nearly 10,804 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos. Since its establishment, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos, including nearly 7,000 graves whose names and hometowns have not been identified. In a solemn, respectful and emotional atmosphere, the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their infinite gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble cause of international revolution.
