(Baonghean.vn) - After Vinh city replaced the trees on Nguyen Van Cu walking street, Vinh city leaders said they will continue to replace all the trees on Ho Tung Mau street to create a synchronous and long-lasting beauty.

On the walking streets of Nguyen Van Cu and Ho Tung Mau, workers from Vinh City Green Tree Company are mobilizing workers to dig up all the old tree stumps to replace them with new ones.

Specifically, on Nguyen Van Cu Street, all the current trees will be replaced with 157 rosewood trees. For Ho Tung Mau Street, it is expected that all the trees will be replaced with 208 Bauhinia trees. All the trees will be planted at a certain distance to create uniformity.

Mr. Nguyen Van P, a clothing seller on Nguyen Van Cu walking street, said: "We are very sorry for the row of green, old mango trees here. Looking over there, we see that the new row of trees has no leaves yet. At first, it doesn't look nice and can't help to block the sun."

Worried about the new trees not providing shade, while the walking street is about to open, people are also concerned about the situation of the sidewalk being dug up, affecting people's travel and business.

Besides, after planting new trees, the sand and soil from the dug holes are slowly filled up, causing loss of urban beauty and affecting pedestrians.

In addition, after replacing the old trees, the electrical wiring and cables running through them lost their support and hung low, posing a potential danger to passersby, especially during storms.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong - Head of Block 1, Truong Thi Ward said: "We, the people, always support the Party and State's policies on improving the environmental landscape, making the streets green, clean and beautiful. However, we hope that the city needs to organize a meeting with the people, agree and announce the construction methods so that people are not confused."

Talking to us, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tu - Chairman of the City People's Committee said: The city will accept the opinions of the people, however, replacing trees on walking routes is necessary and the city will still proceed to create long-term, synchronous beauty for the routes, especially in the walking streets of a class 1 urban area. The construction of walking streets is not only a highlight of Vinh city but also an important highlight of the province, so the city will implement it properly and thoughtfully and hope that people will support the city's policy.
