Dien Trung (Dien Chau): Selling 100,000 VietGAP chicken eggs every day
(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Trung Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An) currently has 168 chicken farms following VietGAP standards, supplying the market with 100,000 clean eggs every day and over 1,000 tons of chicken meat every year.

Mr. Le Van An's chicken farm in Hamlet 2B, Dien Trung Commune, Dien Chau District has a capacity of 10,000 chickens per batch. They mainly raise Mic chickens, selling 3 batches each year, earning 400 million VND in profit, creating jobs for 2 workers. |
Dien Trung Commune Chicken Breeding Association, Dien Chau District was established in 2009 and developed into a VietGAP Chicken Breeding Group in 2013. Up to now, Dien Trung VietGAP Chicken Breeding Group has 168 farms and households raising chickens with a scale of 500 to 15 thousand chickens/batch. Of which, 95 farms specialize in raising meat chickens, the rest are raising egg-laying chickens.

Mr. Dau Ngoc Hoa - Head of the VietGAP Dien Trung chicken farming team said: With that number of chicken farms, each day chicken farmers here supply the market with over 100,000 eggs, earning 160 million VND; in addition, on average each chicken farm sells 12 tons of chicken meat/year. Thus, each year Dien Trung sells over 1,000 tons of chicken meat, earning tens of billions of VND.

Currently, the selling price of imported eggs is 1,600 VND/egg, farmers earn about 500 VND in profit. The egg consumption market is throughout the districts in the province. |
The chicken breeds that Dien Trung people are raising are mainly Sa Pha, Egypt, Luong Phuong, Mic... Recently, the locality signed a commitment with the district not to use animal feed containing banned substances, so 100% of the daily chicken feed imported has invoices and documents. The Livestock Group has contracted with the Lifsap Project to take feed samples for regular quality testing.
