(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of heavy rain and upstream water flooding the communal house area west of Vinh market, on the night of September 29 and early morning of September 30, the Vinh City Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Rescue directed the operation of 2 pumps to limit damage caused by flooding.

According to businesses in Vinh market, around 2-3 am, water from upstream poured down, causing the area to flood.The temple west of Vinh market was flooded., water level about 60-80 cm.

A representative of the Vinh City Disaster Prevention and Rescue Command said: In addition to the Vinh market location, on the night of September 29, the City Disaster Prevention and Rescue Command surveyed, investigated the cause and dispatched a pump with a capacity of nearly 1,000 m3/hour at 3/2 bridge area, Ha Huy Tap ward to pump water to the North canal, reducing deep flooding in Nghi Phu area (72m road area, Le Nin avenue, residential area behind Vinaconex 9).

Currently, to prevent the risk of heavy rain continuing to cause flooding in some residential areas of Trung Do and Ben Thuy wards, Vinh City People's Committee has directed Pumping Station No. 3 to increase the number of personnel on duty to prevent Lam River water (currently at alert level 3) from flowing back into the regulating lake inside the dike; at the same time, regularly check the pump system at Pumping Stations No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3.
