Dang Son commune has 105.6 hectares of summer-autumn rice that is about to ripen, the main rice varieties are Khang Dan, Thien Uu, Huong Thom Kinh Bac... Taking advantage of the sunny weather, farmers go to the fields to harvest rice. In the fields, some combine harvesters operate continuously, bringing about quick and efficient harvesting. However, vThis summer-autumn crop, due to the appearance of brown planthoppers, the yield was not as high as previous years, only reaching 2 - 2.5 quintals/sao.

In Nam Son commune, farmers are also rushing to the fields to harvest rice. The whole commune has 154 hectares, after the 3rd and 4th storms, about 30 hectares were 100% damaged; 20 hectares were less than 70% damaged. This year's rice crop yield is not high, even good rice fields only yield 2.8 quintals/sao. Mr. Nguyen Duy Ba in Nam Son commune said that his family planted more than 3 sao of Khang Dan and Thien Uu short-grain rice with more than 2 quintals/sao, because the rice was infected with planthoppers, the yield was lower than last year.
According to the people's estimates, if the summer-autumn crop this year is not infected with rice planthoppers, the average yield could reach 3 quintals/sao. The reason for the large number of planthoppers is due to erratic weather, and the planthoppers appeared near the end of the crop, so some communes have directed people to harvest early.
