Do Luong successfully organized the District Women's Union Congress

On the morning of July 20, the 21st Congress of the Women's Union of Do Luong district, term 2021 - 2026, officially opened. This is one of the first 3 localities to hold the Congress of Women's Union at the grassroots level.

Attending and directing the congress were comrade Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission. After 5 years of implementing the ResolutionWomen's Union CongressIn the 20th district congress, with the spirit of solidarity, all levels of the association in Do Luong district have effectively carried out many emulation movements and key tasks of the association.

In which, it is prominent to promote the core role ofwomenin participating in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; women's start-up movement,economic development, protect the environment; actively participate in social security activities, participate in building a strong Party and political system.

In particular, implementing the breakthrough "Creating changes in the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and mobilizing women to proactively participate in economic development, focusing on safe and sustainable production and business", in the past 5 years, 1,045 poor households headed by women have been supported with loans (reaching 100%), of which 217 poor households headed by women have escaped poverty according to multidimensional criteria, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole district to below 2% (in 2020).

At the end of the term, 14/14 targets met the targets of the District Women's Union Congress Resolution; 11/11 targets met the targets of the Provincial Women's Union Congress Resolution; 7/7 targets met the targets of the National Women's Union Congress Resolution, contributing to the successful implementation of local socio-economic development goals and tasks.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - President of the Provincial Women's Union highly appreciated the achievements that the women's unions at all levels in Do Luong district have achieved in the past term.

In the coming term, to achieve the set goals, the President of the Provincial Women's Union suggested that all levels of women's unions in the district need to have a deeper and more complete understanding of the functions and tasks of the union organization in the renovation period, thereby promoting the role of the organization and women's union members in implementing local political tasks. In addition, it is necessary to focus on supporting women to improve their economic power, in which, attention should be paid to building collective economic models, applying high technology; building brands for agricultural products...

At the same time, continue to promote the role of the association and its members, unite women of all walks of life, promote the potential, internal strength and advantages of women, contribute to fulfilling the mission of ensuring basic rights, equality and legitimate and legal interests of women, and eliminate gender prejudice.

The congress approved the draft resolution of the congress, elected 25 comrades to the Executive Committee of the District Women's Union, term XXI, 2021-2026, and elected a delegation to attend the 16th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Women's Union. Comrade Thai Thi Hien continued to be elected as President of the Do Luong District Women's Union.

Also at the congress, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag to the Women's Union of Do Luong district for excellently completing its tasks, leading the province's patriotic emulation movement in 2020.
