The Central Steering Committee's working delegation on summarizing Resolution 26 surveyed industrial parks in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - The working delegation of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 26 visited industrial parks in the province and worked with the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An province.
On the afternoon of November 17, the Central Steering Committee's working delegation conducted a field survey to summarize Resolution 26 dated July 30, 2013 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020, led by comrade Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission. The delegation conducted field surveys at VSIP Nghe An Co., Ltd.; WHA Industrial Zone 1 - Nghe An; and worked with the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board.
Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

The delegation surveyed and worked with VSIP Nghe An Industrial Parks. VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Complex Project has a scale of 750 hectares, of which 367.6 hectares are developed as industrial parks; 382.4 hectares are urban and service areas. The project started in September 2015, as of November 2022, 27 investors have leased land with an area of 227.44 hectares/total industrial land area for lease of 263.23 hectares.
Currently, the industrial park has 32 licensed investment projects (23 projects in operation, 4 projects under construction, the remaining projects are completing procedures), with a total registered capital of VND 17,118 billion; there are 18 investors (FDI), with a total registered capital of 681.06 million USD from countries and territories: Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sweden; currently there are 13,574 workers working in the industrial park.

WHA Industrial Zone1- Nghe An has a total investment of about 22 trillion VND with a total area of 2,100 hectares. This is the first industrial park developed by WHA Development PLC (WHAID) in Vietnam since 2017.
As of October 2022, phase 1 of the WHA Industrial Zone1- Nghe An Industrial Park Project has attracted 20 secondary projects (including 16 foreign investors and 4 domestic investors), with a total registered capital of 638 million USD, a total land lease area of 87.6 hectares, a rate of 74%.

Also on the same day, the delegation worked with the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone. Up to now, the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone has expanded its area to 20,776.47 hectares, located in 26 communes, wards and towns in the districts of Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Hoang Mai town, Cua Lo and Vinh city. Currently, the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks have 277 valid projects, including 65 FDI projects.
Currently, Bac Vinh Industrial Park and the old Nam Cam Industrial Park have basically been filled, the remaining industrial parks are continuing to invest in building technical infrastructure and attracting secondary investment projects. The occupancy rate of the industrial parks has reached nearly 63% so far.

In addition to the achieved results, the leaders of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board also reported to the working group on the difficulties and shortcomings in the process of building and developing the Economic Zone and Industrial Park. The proposal related to the policy of expanding the Southeast Economic Zone from 20,776 ha to 105,850 ha; mechanisms and policies on organizational structure, payroll, and special salary regime for the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board.

Speaking at the meetings, comrade Nguyen Hong Son highly appreciated Nghe An province's investment attraction work as well as the province's support in resolving difficulties and problems related to land procedures, investment in transport infrastructure, logistics service infrastructure, creating a favorable environment to attract investors.

The delegation also suggested that the province should focus on building and developing the Southeast Economic Zone into a dynamic, attractive and highly competitive economic development area in the North Central region; creating a breakthrough in attracting investment in the province.

Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Hong Son also requested that industrial parks coordinate with Nghe An province in training human resources, especially highly skilled human resources to serve the industrial parks.
