During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh paid special attention to soldiers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs. Despite being busy with a thousand and one things, every year on July 27, Uncle Ho personally sent letters, gave gifts, visited wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at cemeteries.

Before passing away, he left these instructions in his historic Testament for our entire Party and army: “Immediately after our people's resistance war against the US to save the country has been completely victorious, the first task for people is to take care of wounded soldiers and those who have contributed to the cause of national liberation and reunification.”
