Unique way of using traps to hunt field mice of Nghe An farmers

(Baonghean.vn) - The "experts" in hunting field mice in Yen Thanh district (Nghe An) have a very unique and effective way of catching mice. People call it the profession of setting traps to hunt mice.

The tool used to catch field mice by the people of Duc Thanh commune is extremely unique, which is to use stripes (also known as that) that are identical to a fish trap. The men who hunt field mice said that each time they set traps like this, if they hit a mouse hole or nest, they can catch 10-15 mice per stripe. Currently, it is the mouse breeding season, so each group of people in Yen Thanh can catch 30-40 kg of field mice per day. Photo: Viet Hung.

Currently, the most famous field mouse hunting profession is still in Yen Thanh district. Right in Duc Thanh commune, every day hundreds of people spread out to all the fields from Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu... to hunt mice. By late afternoon, they bring back tons of mice for traders, then the mice are sent by truck to Hanoi for consumption and processed into specialties.
