Efforts to protect and care for workers' lives

During the past term, with both advantages and difficulties, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the attention and direction of the Vinh Provincial and City Labor Federation, the coordination and facilitation of professionals and organizations, along with the efforts of cadres, civil servants and employees, Vinh City General Hospital has achieved many results in many fields: The hospital was honored to be recognized by the Ministry of Health as one of the first hospitals to successfully apply electronic medical records; the quality of medical examination and treatment has been significantly improved, many new techniques, specialized techniques at the provincial and central levels have been deployed and applied; the spirit and attitude of service have been increasingly improved and recognized by the people, the brand and reputation have been increasingly affirmed.

Staff and employees are united and unanimous in carrying out the mission of taking care of patients' health. The income and spiritual life of staff and employees are increasingly improved. Social, cultural, artistic and sports activities are taking place vigorously, emulation movements have many innovations... the role and position of the trade union continue to be affirmed.

The direction and activities of the union have many innovations and are effective, creating high consensus among union members... these are important premises and a solid foundation creating momentum for the development of the Hospital in the coming term.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Tran Thi Le Thi - Vice President of the City Labor Federation highly appreciated the role of the Hospital's trade union organization. The Executive Board of the Trade Union is always united and responsible in advising the Party Committee, coordinating with professionals in building hospital regulations and rules, promptly resolving concerns and wishes of union members and workers; having many good and creative ways in implementing programs and plans while mobilizing union members and workers to achieve many achievements in all aspects of work; doing a good job in developing union members, building strong grassroots unions; actively participating in emulation movements launched by the City Labor Federation and performing well the political tasks of the unit. At the same time, the work of caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers is given due attention. The Hospital's Trade Union members enthusiastically participate in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic...

Innovation and creativity in union activities

In addition to the results achieved in the last term, the congress also pointed out the shortcomings in the hospital's trade union activities, thereby setting out the directions, goals and tasks for the 2023 - 2028 term.

Accordingly, in the coming term, the hospital's Trade Union will focus on implementing the following goals: Innovating the content and methods of operation, developing union members, building a strong union organization; improving the capacity and quality of the union staff; taking advantage of the leadership of the hospital's Party Committee, the Vinh City Labor Federation, and the support of the hospital's Board of Directors to effectively perform the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of staff and employees; effectively implementing propaganda and education work; promoting patriotic emulation movements; and coordinating the implementation of the work of building a team of cadres and union members.

Speaking at the congress, Dr. Nguyen Hong Truong - Director of Vinh General Hospital, hoped that the trade union would focus on a number of key tasks: administrative reform, medical ethics and service attitude, continuing to rectify and innovate the communication and behavior of medical staff towards patients and vice versa, implementing a culture of using phones in performing official duties; changing the thinking of a small number of union members. He hoped that union members would continue to contribute to the professional development of the hospital; contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 10th Party Congress of the hospital, term 2020-2025 with the goal of: Improving leadership capacity, building a hospital that develops in all aspects, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period, achieving the standards of a complete Grade II General Smart Hospital; striving to become a Grade I Hospital, contributing to making Vinh city soon become the center of the North Central region in the field of Health.
