BMC project in Nghe An unfinished, damaging residential roads
(Baonghean.vn) - For many years, residents of Block 18, Hung Binh Ward (Vinh City) have been upset because the BMC Commercial Center and High-rise Apartment project on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street (located in Block 18) has caused the roads to seriously deteriorate.
Nearly 10 years ago, BMC Construction Materials and Trading Construction Company from Ho Chi Minh City came to Nghe An to invest. This company registered and was approved to invest in projects located in the center of Vinh and Cua Lo urban areas. However, the company's projects were not implemented as expected, not to mention affecting the infrastructure surrounding the projects.

According to the reporter's observation, the BMC Commercial Center and High-rise Apartment Complex project on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street is still unfinished but no longer under construction. In particular, the adjacent road in the Southeast of the project is seriously cracked and has not been repaired by the construction unit.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, a resident living next to this road, said: The road has been cracked for many years due to the large trucks transporting materials passing through. The drainage ditch on the road has also been blocked by the construction. The residents have complained to the company but have not received a satisfactory response from the investor.
People living around this area said that the construction items have begun to deteriorate, many rusty steel bars are hanging above the road, dangerous, especially during the rainy season, they can fall onto the road at any time.

Mr. Dang Xuan Phuong - Head of Block 18, Hung Binh Ward (Vinh City) said: Of the 4 roads adjacent to the BMC project in the area, 2 roads are seriously degraded, including the road from Minh Khai Street to the block's cultural house and the Southeast road running parallel. The block has petitioned the city for a solution.
Receiving the people's petition, Vinh city issued Document No. 3030/2018 requesting BMC Construction Materials and Commercial Construction Company to urgently return the original road to the people before July 15, 2018.
Recently, the investor agreed to repair the road from Minh Khai Street to the village cultural house with a budget of 19 million VND, and we, the people, supported 5 million VND. However, the remaining road section without drainage ditches is unknown when it will be completed.
During the discussion, Mr. Ho Viet Thanh - Vice Chairman of Hung Binh Ward People's Committee said: Before starting the project, the investor BMC committed to restoring the infrastructure works affected during the construction process within 5 years, but now the deadline has passed; recently the investor has only restored the road from Minh Khai Street to the cultural house of block 18. The remaining roads and drainage ditches are still degraded, affecting people's lives during the rainy season; this company has not yet commented on whether it will restore them for the people.
We also hope that the project will continue to be completed to ensure the safety of people living nearby.
