The exciting thing is that recently the People's Committee of Nghe An province has agreed in principle to build a resettlement area for the area affected by flash floods in Ky Son district.

Kha Van Quang's family had their house collapsed in a flash flood, and they had to stay with someone else. Over the past two weeks, Quang has received help from the villagers, who have joined hands to build a temporary house in Hoa Son village. Kha Van Quang said: We had to collect and use materials from the collapsed house and buy some more materials to build a temporary house. Luckily, the house was just completed in time for Tet.

Hoa Son village, Ta Ca commune (Ky Son) has 244 households, of which 64 households had their houses damaged.flash flood devastationSome damaged houses have to be temporarily built tents to live in, some households live with relatives. Currently, many houses are severely damaged, people do not have the conditions to repair them, but are waiting for resettlement land to bring the old house along to take advantage of.
To ensure the safety of people in flash flood areas, recently, on December 9, 2022, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 9765/UBND-NN on "Construction of infrastructureemergency resettlement areafor the people of Muong Xen town and Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district".

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Ky Son district to be responsible for accurately reviewing the number of households that lost their homes and need to move to a new resettlement site to select locations and determine the investment scale of the Resettlement Area project (phase 1) to ensure timeliness, economy, efficiency and suitability to reality.
For other households that are eligible for resettlement, phase 2 will be implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment. Accordingly, the resettlement area with an area of 12.9 hectares in Cau Tam village, Ca Ta commune, is expected to be 5.7 hectares for 225 households.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh - Chairman of Ky Son District People's Committee added: According to the plan, by June 2023, the project to build an emergency resettlement area for people in Muong Xen town and Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district will be completed.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Ky Son district: Currently, the district is mobilizing mechanical means to overcome and level the soil and rocks on the road to Tay Son commune, and it is expected that the road will be open to cars by New Year's Day 2023. Some state agencies in Muong Xen town, Ky Son district are overcoming the damage after the flash flood, such as rebuilding fences, yards, etc.
