Nghe An driver fined over 20 million for using tape to cover license plate
After verifying, the Vinh city traffic police team invited the car driver who used tape to change the license plate to come in to work.
Previously, on March 1, social media posted a picture of a white Honda City car running on Tran Hung Dao Street, Vinh City with its license plate taped. According to the picture, the car's license plate number 37A-926.87, after being taped with black tape, changed to license plate number 37A-828.87.
Upon receiving the information, the traffic police identified the driver and asked him to come to the police station. At the police station, Mr. CTT, residing in Nghi An commune, Vinh city, the driver of the car admitted to using tape to change two numbers on the license plate of the car to avoid being fined when participating in traffic. The car was identified as having license plate 37A-926.87.
Based on the verification documents, the Vinh City Traffic Police Department has drawn up an administrative violation report against Mr. CTT for covering up letters and numbers on the license plate and temporarily detained his driver's license for handling.
According to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, the above violations will be fined 20-26 million VND. In addition to the fine, the violator will also have 6 points deducted from the driver's license.
