Erecting Lenin statue in Vinh city center
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City is currently constructing a fountain and placing a Lenin statue, which is an important milestone in the relationship between Nghe An province and Ulyanovsk province (Russian Federation).

Previously, to further enhance the friendship between Ulyanovsk province (Russian Federation) and Nghe An province, the Ulyanovsk provincial government presented Nghe An province with a bronze statue of Lenin, 3 meters high, crafted in Russia, then transported to Vietnam to Vinh city.

After consulting with the province and surveying to select a location, Vinh City People's Committee decided to build a Lenin statue in Hung Dung ward.
The planned construction land area is nearly 4,300m2.2next to the customs intersection, the intersection of Nguyen Phong Sac, Lenin, Le Hong Phong, Truong Thi and Vo Nguyen Hien streets. In which, the monument area has an area of 3,000m22.

The base of the statue is 3 meters high, made of reinforced concrete, with a stone exterior. The front is engraved with the words "LENIN, 1870 - 1924" in Russian and Vietnamese. The back is engraved with the words "As a sign of friendship" in Russian and Vietnamese.

Mr. Tran Xuan Le - Head of Vinh City Construction Investment Project Management Board said: This is a symbolic project for the good relationship between Vietnam and Russia in general, and Uncle Ho's homeland and Lenin's homeland in particular. Therefore, the location of the statue was carefully surveyed. Construction units are rushing to complete the project on March 31, 2020.

In addition to building the Lenin statue, Vinh City is also dismantling the clock at the customs intersection, replacing it with a fountain and a unique flower garden with an area of over 1,200m2.2.
