16 students, including 9 primary school students and 7 secondary school students, were stung by bees and were taken to the commune health station for first aid by their teachers.
After that, two ninth grade students from Thanh Khe Secondary School were stung by dozens of bees and had skin reactions, including itching and redness. They were transferred to Thanh Chuong District General Hospital for treatment.
According to Mr. Ha, it is possible that due to the rain and floods, the beehive moved to build a nest in the tree. Before the teachers could detect it and handle it in time, the hyperactive students started teasing and causing the bees to attack.
Thanh Chuong Department of Education and Training also directed the school to have a plan to handle the beehive to ensure safety for students.
Previously, on the morning of September 8, a large beehive located in the lush mango tree canopy at Nghi Phu 1 Primary School, Vinh City, swooped down and attacked, causing 16 children to be hospitalized for treatment.
After the above incident, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training requested local education departments to direct schools to check beehives (if any) located on school grounds for handling, ensuring safety for students./.
