Difficult family situation of the man whose arm was severed by a machine

According to Ms. Bui Thi Hoai Ly (25 years old), Mr. Huu's wife, on the afternoon of March 3, her husband was working at a company in Xuan Hien hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune when he had a work accident. Because the conveyor belt of the production line was skewed, Mr. Huu bent down to check and was suddenly caught by the machine and his left arm was severed.

“As soon as he was caught in the machine, my husband called everyone, but because the machine was running, no one heard. Only when he was able to run outside did the workers there know and quickly took my husband away.emergency" - said Ly.

Over the past few days, his family and relatives have been trying to treat Mr. Huu. He is currently being treated at Nghe An Orthopedic Trauma Hospital. In addition to having his left arm severed, he also suffered broken ribs and lost a lot of blood.

Ms. Ly added that when he was first brought to the hospital, the family really wanted the doctors to reattach his arm, but because the injury was so severe, the severed arm could not be reattached. Although he was transferred to another department, Mr. Huu's health was very weak.

It is known that after Huu and Ly got married for a while, their parents let them live separately in a corner of the garden. Because Huu's family was not well off, they had to let their son convert and expand an old buffalo pen built with 4 concrete pillars to make a place to live.

The low “buffalo pen” house, Mr. Huu added more wood to make the roof wider, he and his wife did not divide it but only built a small kitchen next to the gable. Inside the house, there are a few simple items such as a small bed, a water table, a rice bin... Every day, he often goes to work making glue, cassava... whatever people call to earn money to raise his children. At the end of 2022, he started working as a worker for a company near his home.

The couple has 3 children, the eldest is in first grade, the second is in kindergarten and the youngest is 9 months old. The family farms 3 sao of rice fields and raises livestock. Because the children are young and the school is far away, Ms. Ly cannot work to earn money, but has to stay home to take care of the children and take them to school. All family expenses depend on Mr. Huu's income.

Family life was already difficult and lacking, the couple had to save money to raise their children, repair the pigsty and cowshed, now that Huu had an accident, the family's situation became even more dire. Ly had to sell two young buffaloes for 17.5 million VND and borrow more money from relatives to have money to treat her husband. The cost of treating Huu at the hospital was quite expensive.

"Mr. Huu nowThe wound on his amputated arm is still necrotizing. On the afternoon of March 14, the doctor advised him to be transferred to Hanoi for treatment. I and everyone else are very worried,” Ms. Ly said sadly.

Understanding the difficult situation of Mr. Huu's family, the neighbors and fellow countrymen of Thanh Xuan commune have organized a call for everyone to join hands in donating to help the victim's family. On this occasion, representatives of departments and branches of Thanh Chuong district also visited the house and gave the family 5 million VND in support gifts.
