Press agencies continue to promote their functions of criticism and social supervision well. At the meeting, there were 9 opinions from newspapers and radio stations focusing on reflecting the situation that agencies, departments, branches, sectors or localities are "avoiding" the press, causing difficulties for newspapers and radio stations when collecting information and data.
For hot issues that have been reported by the press and have been or are being handled by authorities, delegates suggested that authorities hold widespread press conferences so that public opinion can understand clearly and localities need to cooperate to resolve them.
Representatives expressed concern about the situation where some press agencies used news and articles from collaborators without clearly handling the source of the information, without following the correct procedures, without verification, leading to false information causing public confusion, creating opportunities for some subjects to take advantage of the incident to incite the people.
Therefore, press and media representatives need to strictly manage their team of collaborators. Articles must be of good quality, information must be authentic, multi-dimensional, accurately reflect economic and social life, and create trust in public opinion.
