(Baonghean.vn)- On March 25, Vinh City Police said they were detaining two brothers to continue investigating and clarifying their behavior of resisting law enforcement officers related to the incident that occurred at the Dem Trang Coffee Shop, Le Mao Ward (Vinh City).

The two suspects in criminal detention are Nguyen Thanh Hung (born 1972), residing in Tan Quang block, Le Mao ward (Vinh city), the owner of the coffee shop, and Nguyen Thanh Ha (born 1975), Hung's younger brother.

Although he did not participate in gambling, Hung resisted when the police caught the group gambling for money. Hung's younger brother, Ha, even bit the hand of the deputy police chief of the ward to steal the money that was evidence in the case.

Previously, at around 10:55 a.m. on March 18, after receiving a report that a group of people were gambling at the Dem Trang coffee shop, Le Mao Ward Police (Vinh City) sent two working groups led by Major Tran Duc Long, Deputy Chief of Ward Police, to approach and catch them red-handed.

When the task force raided, they discovered a group of 1 woman and 2 men gambling for money, so they approached to seize the evidence. Seeing this, the owner of the shop, Nguyen Thanh Hung, came in from outside and picked up the evidence and threw it outside to disperse it. Major Tran Duc Long asked Hung to stop, but this person continued to struggle, grabbed the evidence and threw it off the gambling table, and at the same time called for the police to rob the money.

Hung's wife saw this from inside the house and immediately took a basket full of straws and coffee making tools and threw it in the middle of the shop, knocking over tables and chairs, then shouted, attracting the attention of many passersby and people around the area who gathered to surround the shop. At this time, the working group of 5 people was forced into a corner of the shop, and Nguyen Thanh Hung also punched Major Long in the face, but he was lucky to dodge.

Not stopping there, Nguyen Thanh Ha (born in 1975), residing in Tan Quang block, Le Mao ward, Hung's younger brother who was running a car wash business nearby, ran over, cursed, used challenging words, then suddenly bit comrade Long's hand to take back the evidence, then chased the working group out of the coffee shop.

Given the complicated developments of the case and the aggressive attitude of the subjects, the Vinh City Police Department's leadership ordered the Criminal Police team with the timely support of the 113 Police to the scene to control and bring all related subjects to the headquarters for clarification. Taking advantage of the chaos, the female gambler escaped. The two subjects participating in the gambling were detained: Nguyen Thanh Hai (born in 1962), the real brother of Hung and Ha, currently residing in Tan Quang Block, Le Mao Ward, and Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1979), residing in Nghi Phu Commune (Vinh City).

It is known that Nguyen Thanh Ha has a previous sentence of 3 years in prison for robbery, was a drug addict, was sent to a rehabilitation center but escaped. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the brother of Hung and Ha, has a previous sentence of 10 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking and a previous sentence of 6 months in prison for theft.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Uyen, Chief of Le Mao Ward Police, added: The White Night Coffee Shop is a notorious gambling den, and has been caught red-handed by Le Mao Ward Police three times, and by Vinh City Police twice for organizing gambling for coffee drinkers.
