Assaulting Covid-19 prevention officer, sentenced to 9 months in prison
The ward police came to explain and ask to stop the gathering, but Tung, Minh and Linh did not comply and cursed and punched the police officers on duty.
The People's Court of Bac Tu Liem District sentenced defendant Nguyen Dac Tung to 9 months in prison for "Resisting a person on official duty".
On the morning of April 24, the People's Court of Bac Tu Liem District opened the first-instance trial of the case of "Resisting a person on official duty" related to the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the indictment and the trial, on the evening of April 4, 2020, at the "Phat Quan" restaurant in Phu Dien ward (Bac Tu Liem district), Tran Dang Minh (born in 1991, residing in Phu Dien ward, Bac Tu Liem district) organized a large gathering, ate, drank, and sang karaoke with Nguyen Dac Tung and Le Ngoc Linh (both born in 1991, residing in Ngoc Khanh ward, Ba Dinh district).

While under the influence of alcohol, Nguyen Dac Tung punched a police officer of Phu Dien ward in the face, causing injury. After fully and objectively reviewing the case file and questioning the defendants in court, the panel of judges concluded that the defendants' actions had affected the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic, causing harm to the epidemic prevention staff, and causing public outrage.
The panel sentenced defendant Nguyen Dac Tung to 9 months in prison. Defendants Le Ngoc Linh and Tran Dang Minh were both sentenced to 8 months in prison.
