(Baonghean.vn) - Both parents passed away due to traffic accidents and serious illnesses, leaving two sisters alone in an empty house. The older sister is disabled, and the younger sister, who is in 9th grade, is at risk of having to drop out of school. That is the pitiful situation of Hoang Thi Le Na (15 years old) in Hamlet 8, Hung Chinh Commune, Vinh City.

Arriving at Na’s house on a day at the end of May – a small house in the middle of the village, near Highway 46 – the atmosphere of grief and mourning had not yet subsided. Since Na’s father passed away, the already difficult situation of her family had become even more desolate.

In the outer room, next to the altar of Mrs. Tran Thi Tuyet - Na's mother, there was now an altar of Mr. Hoang Nghia Vinh - Na's father. Preparing lunch, Na quietly brought the rice up to burn incense for her father.

Amidst the lingering incense smoke and sobs, seeing the two children wrapped in white mourning scarves on their heads made those present feel even more heartbroken. Na shared in tears: “My father had an accident and passed away a few days ago. I miss him so much.”

It is known that Na's family has 2 sisters, the father is a carpenter, the mother is a teacher at a middle school in the district. Family life seemed to go on peacefully, but unexpectedly, the childhood of the two sisters Na had to go through the saddest years.

Five years ago, during a routine medical check-up, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet - Na's mother, suddenly discovered that she had nasopharyngeal cancer. After a period of treatment at many hospitals, she passed away, leaving behind a devoted and loving husband and young children. That year, Na was in 4th grade.

Two sisters are orphans.

After his wife passed away, Mr. Vinh became a single father, taking care of his children and working as a carpenter to earn a living. In the early years, he opened a small workshop at home, making wooden household items to sell. Later, he was in too much debt, so he had to quit the workshop and work for hire, making whatever he was hired to make. It can be said that since his wife passed away, he and his children have lived in extremely difficult and deprived days.

Folklore says “being poor and having a hard time” and then misfortune still did not leave his family alone. On May 20, while attending his brother-in-law’s 100th anniversary ceremony in Dien Lien commune (Dien Chau), he had a traffic accident near Cuong temple. His motorbike crashed into the back of a truck, causing him to suffer a fractured skull and die on the spot. His body lay on the National Highway for several hours without any relatives coming to claim it. After seeing the online community post a notice to find relatives for the victim, his children learned that their father had passed away.

The carpentry workshop is still cluttered with wood, boards, and Na's father's belongings.

At Mr. Vinh's funeral that day, the deceased was carried through the village road. His relatives and friends all felt sorry for his fate, a kind and gentle carpenter, and for his children who had to become orphans early.

The eldest daughter, Hoang Thi Tam (born in 1997), has suffered from heart disease and congenital brain disease since birth, and is not aware of her surroundings; her limbs are crippled, her speech and laughter are irregular, and she has to rely on others for all her daily activities. Na, the second daughter, has become the only hope of the whole family. Now her parents have passed away, leaving the two sisters alone in an empty house, not knowing who to rely on.

Witnessing the difficult family situation of Na and her sister, everyone could not help but feel sad. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tinh (64 years old), a neighbor next door to Na's house, shared: "Na's parents had a hard time giving birth to a disabled child, but the pain of having a child had not yet ended when both husband and wife passed away due to serious illness and traffic accidents, leaving behind young children with no place to depend on. I feel so sorry for them."

Bố mẹ qua đời, chị gái tàn tật, liệu Na còn tiếp tục đến trường được nữa hay không?
Parents passed away, sister disabled, will Na be able to continue going to school?

At the end of this school year, Na is preparing to take the 10th grade entrance exam. For the past 9 years, Na has always been an excellent, hard-working, and well-behaved student. Na's 9th grade GPA was 7.9, especially in Math, she was at the top of her class. Now that her parents have passed away, her sister is disabled, and her family's circumstances are so special, will she be able to continue going to school?

Sharing Na's situation, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, head of Hamlet 8, said: "After Na's father passed away, the neighbors came to offer condolences, visit, and encourage the children. I find Na's situation really pitiful, the most pitiful in the hamlet and in this commune. With the spirit of "love others as you love yourself", I hope that authorities at all levels, the social community, and philanthropists will join hands to help, so that the two sisters can be taken care of, especially so that Na can continue to go to school like her friends."
