(Baonghean.vn) - At the peak, more than 1,800 people gathered to put out the pine forest fire in Dien An commune, contributing to containing and controlling the fire, ensuring safety for the people.

Mr. Tang Van Luyen - Chairman of Dien Chau District People's Committee said: The forest fire in Dien An commune on the night of June 29 burned down 1 hectare of pine forest.

Although the area of ​​fire is not large, it is adjacent to many important locations, adjacent to National Highway 1A, Cuong Temple, and residential areas. Firefighting work here encountered many difficulties, the southwest wind blew strongly, the fire column rose high and spread quickly, while the fire fighting force had just gone to put out the fire in hamlet 15, Dien Phu commune (on the afternoon of June 29) and was exhausted.

However, the forest fire fighting forces always strive with great determination, not letting the fire spread, ensuring the safety of lives and property of people living near the forest edge. In addition to mobilizing fire fighting forces, the province also mobilized 16 more fire trucks to coordinate in extinguishing the forest fire.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Dien Chau district, there were over 1,800 people including forest rangers, soldiers, police, militia and people participating in fighting the forest fire in Dien An. The forces quickly implemented a plan to cut a wide firebreak, contain the fire, prevent the fire from spreading, and ensure the safety of lives and property for over 200 households in Hamlet 5 living near the fire.

Currently, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district is assigning local militia and self-defense forces to be on duty to thoroughly handle the ashes to prevent the fire from breaking out again. In addition, the province also arranged fire trucks to be ready for combat and provide timely support when the fire breaks out again.
