More than 3,000 people join forces to do irrigation work in Vinh City
(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the Green Sunday program of Vinh city, Hung Dong commune launched a campaign for all people to join in irrigation and urban environmental sanitation.

During this campaign, Hung Dong commune mobilized 3,120 workers from hamlets, 3 agricultural cooperatives, 3 schools, and medical stations to participate in irrigation and general environmental cleaning on all drainage ditches in 14 residential hamlets.

In 1 day, the people of Hung Dong commune cleaned up 1,100 m3duckweed, grass and trees to clear the flow for 12,800 m of drainage ditches for people and fields.

Due to the impact of storms No. 3 and No. 4, this year the amount of sediment and trash in the drainage ditches of Hung Dong commune is about 170 m more than last year.3Therefore, local authorities must mobilize excavators in the area to participate in dredging mud to support people, and clear silted canals to ensure timely drainage.
