Hung Nguyen celebrates 550 years of its name and receives the First Class Labor Medal

"Land of talented people"

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Van Nen - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Office; comrades Nguyen Sinh Hung - former member of the Politburo, former Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Manh Cam - former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Prime Minister; other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State.

On the provincial leadership side, there were comrades Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and a large number of cadres, party members and people of Hung Nguyen district.

The speech at the celebration was presented by comrade Ngo Phu Han - Chairman of the District People's Committee, affirming that since the time of the Hung Kings' founding, the land of Hung Nguyen has had ancient Vietnamese residents living there, belonging to the Viet Thuong tribe, one of the 15 tribes of the Van Lang nation.

Through thousands of years of history with many historical ups and downs and changes in administrative boundaries and names; in the year Ky Suu 1469, when King Le Thanh Tong issued an edict to re-define the map of the whole country, the name Hung Nguyen was born.

Since then, after a journey of 550 years with many map adjustments, Hung Nguyen now has a total area of ​​nearly 16 thousand hectares; 23 commune-level administrative units with more than 110,000 people.

Over time, this land has accumulated more and more historical and cultural traditions. This place is considered a "spiritual land of outstanding people", producing many outstanding historical figures such as: Khe district duke Dinh Bat Tuy, patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To, General Secretary Le Hong Phong, revolutionary Pham Hong Thai...; it is the place that left a strong mark of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement in 1930 - 1931.

During the revolutionary struggle for national liberation as well as in the resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism, the army and people of Hung Nguyen made many contributions of human and material resources, contributing to national liberation and national unification.

Entering the renovation process, the Party Committee and people of Hung Nguyen continued to make efforts and strive and achieved many important achievements in all fields of socio-economy, national defense - security and Party building, building the political system; was awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President (in 2019).

Bring Hung Nguyen to develop faster and more firmly

Speaking on behalf of the provincial leaders at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh praised the great and proud achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Hung Nguyen in recent times.

The Provincial Party Secretary also emphasized that Hung Nguyen has a geographical location, rich natural conditions, a long history and culture, and has made strong changes in recent times. Hung Nguyen needs to maximize its potential and advantages to continue to develop strongly in the coming time.

To do that, the district needs to focus on economic development; pay attention to planning and development plans, mobilize diverse investment resources, promote the development of industrial production, small-scale industry and services; pay attention to environmental protection. Have specific orientations and plans to attract, train and improve the quality of human resources, considering this a key issue, deciding the success of the development strategy.

The Provincial Party Secretary also said that the development of Hung Nguyen needs to be calculated in relation to the development of Vinh city and the Vinh - Cua Lo - Nam Dan axis. The district needs to focus on developing production and service models for urban and tourism; investing in renovating and upgrading historical and cultural relic sites in the area, connecting in the tourism chain in the Southeast of the province. In particular, the district must be determined to soon reach the new rural destination; must replicate quality new rural commune models.

Along with that, we need to pay attention to solving social security issues; solving employment and vocational training for rural workers to promote labor restructuring and meet the requirements of economic restructuring.

Regarding Party building, it is necessary to pay attention to building a streamlined political system that operates effectively and efficiently.

Cadres and Party members of Hung Nguyen district need to promote the revolutionary tradition of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement, take the lead as exemplary leaders, perform well the assigned tasks, and most recently, perform well the Party Congresses at all levels in the district, practically celebrate the 130th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday, the 90th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement; bring the district to develop faster and more firmly, contributing to the development of the province in the coming time.
