(Baonghean.vn) - With the effective participation of trade unions at all levels, many enterprises in Nghe An consider workers as "valuable assets", thereby paying attention to implementing good policies and regimes to attract and retain workers.

Respect workers

Four years ago, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung (born in 1977), who worked in the machine operation department of Asia Minerals Joint Stock Company (Nam Cam Industrial Park), was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer. He was extremely worried because the cost of treatment was quite high, and his family's circumstances were not good as all expenses depended on his salary.

Understanding Mr. Dung's difficulties, the company's Union promptly reported and advised the company's management to support and donate to promptly support him. With the enthusiastic response of union members and the board of directors, the company handed Mr. Dung more than 30 million VND to carry out the hospitalization procedures. And luck smiled on him when he was treated early.

Although regular check-ups are still needed, with a stable income from the company, he has more support to take care of his health as well as his two children.

Mr. Vu Hoang Giang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Asia Minerals Joint Stock Company said that recently, many workers in difficult circumstances at the Company have been accompanied and supported through the activities of the trade union. The Company is considered to have high welfare resources in the Southeast Economic Zone when recently, the 13th month salary of workers reached 17 - 35 million VND, the Tet bonus was 2 million VND. Every year, all 109 workers here are able to travel for 2 to 3 days and receive regular health check-ups.

In particular, in 2022, during the hot season, workers were supported with cooling drinks and an additional salary allowance of more than 1 million VND per month. These meaningful sources of encouragement helped workers here feel secure and stay with the Company for a long time.

Sharing the view of putting employees at the center of the enterprise, Mr. Takimoto Shingo - General Director of An Nam Matsuoka Garment Co., Ltd. (VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park) said that paying attention to and implementing good policies and regimes for employees is considered one of the ways for enterprises to attract and retain employees.

In recent times, the Company has always coordinated with the Trade Union to pay attention to the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of workers. In addition to implementing policies for union members and employees, the Company also provides monthly allowances for workers, including 300,000 VND for diligence; 300,000 VND for gasoline; 600,000 VND for meals; 20,000 VND/child; and 100,000 - 700,000 VND for housing. Therefore, up to now, most workers are assured of working, producing, and sticking with the company. The relationship between workers and the company is therefore always harmonious, stable, and developing.

On a general level, in the 7 main industrial parks that are operating effectively under the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, there are currently 53 grassroots trade unions operating with nearly 24,000 union members and workers.

Faced with the impact of the economic recession, the production and business activities of many enterprises have encountered difficulties, affecting the income and life of workers. The Economic Zone Trade Union has made timely adjustments, innovated in direction, and flexibly organized the implementation of tasks. On the one hand, it maintains regular and periodic activities; on the other hand, it takes good care of and supports union members and workers. Thanks to that, up to now, most enterprises have implemented many provisions that are beneficial to workers such as: Shift allowance, support for rent, gasoline, diligence, childcare, etc.

Strengthening inspection and supervision work

Besides businesses that do a good job of taking care of and ensuring the legal and legitimate rights of workers, there are still a large number of businesses that are lacking in this work.

For example, in 2022, trade unions at all levels in the province received and resolved 16 complaints from workers and laborers. Of these, 14 complaints under the authority of the trade union were completely resolved. From there, 2 workers were resolved regarding their salary regime, 7 people were resolved regarding their social insurance regime, 3 people were resolved regarding their severance allowance regime... The remaining two complaints, under the authority of state agencies, were transferred in accordance with regulations.

In order to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, last year, trade unions at all levels conducted 2,499 inspections on the implementation of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter, 993 inspections on the implementation of the Trade Union Charter; Implemented resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels; provided support packages for union members and workers affected by Covid-19 and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022...

Through inspection and supervision, the Trade Unions at all levels have promptly coordinated to make recommendations and provide guidance to employers to take measures to overcome limitations in the implementation of legal regulations. At the same time, they have recommended to competent authorities to handle cases where employers have violated labor laws, causing great impacts on the rights of employees.

Active coordination in inspection and supervision has helped the Trade Unions at all levels to better grasp the implementation of the State's policies and laws; grassroots democracy regulations; grasp the reality of life, labor, and employment; and the implementation of policies and regimes for workers. From there, timely recommendations, guidance, and urging labor-using units to take measures to increasingly better implement the regulations of the Party and the State.
