(Baonghean.vn) - Regarding the illegal stone mining case in Quy Hop district, the provincial police have issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Tran Van Bay for the crime of "Violating regulations on research, exploration, and exploitation of resources".

Previously, at 3:00 p.m. on July 13, under the direction of the Director of Nghe An Provincial Police, the Economic Police Department coordinated with the Provincial Police Mobile Police Department to inspect, detect, and arrest 23 subjects in the act of using machinery.illegal quarryingin Pha Cum mountain area, Ken hamlet, Chau Loc commune, Quy Hop district.

During the inspection, the authorities temporarily seized 5 excavators, 1 truck, 6 stone cutters (wire cutters), 2 steam generators, 2 vertical drills, 2 oil tanks serving illegal mineral exploitation activities. Conducting an investigation to clarify, the subject Tran Van Bay (born in 1970), residing in Minh Xuan hamlet, Minh Hop commune, Quy Hop district, was identified as the organizer of illegal mineral exploitation at the above location. The amount of minerals (white marble) illegally exploited species with a volume of 1,200 m3.

After consolidating the records, documents and evidence, determining that the subjects had signs of the crime of "Violating regulations on research, exploration and exploitation of natural resources" as prescribed in Article 227 of the Penal Code, on July 16, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police Department issued a decision to temporarily detain Tran Van Bay; on July 21, 2021, temporarily detained Dao Xuan Duong (born in 1986), residing in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop to serve the investigation.

On July 23, based on the investigation results, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, a decision to prosecute the accused, and an order to detain Tran Van Bay for the crime of "Violating regulations on research, exploration, and exploitation of resources" under Clause 2, Article 227 of the Penal Code.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency is continuing to fight and investigate to clarify the behavior, nature and level of violations of related subjects for handling according to the provisions of law.
