Provincial leaders offer incense to commemorate the 77th death anniversary of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai

Attending the ceremony were comrades Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates reviewed the biography and heroic revolutionary activities of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai was born on November 1, 1910 in Vinh Yen commune (now Quang Trung ward, Vinh city, Nghe An) into a family of civil servants. Born in a time of national and family loss, she soon participated in anti-imperialist struggles and revolutionary enlightenment.

At the age of 16, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai officially embarked on the revolutionary path and joined the Tan Viet Party. With her enthusiasm and strong fighting spirit, she was assigned many important positions. In 1930, she was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party, assigned to train party members at Truong Thi - Ben Thuy, then went to Hong Kong (China), working at the office of the Eastern branch of the Communist International.Memorial house of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai in Vinh city. He was imprisoned by the Chinese Kuomintang (1931 - 1933) and was released thanks to the Red International's efforts. After being released from prison, he worked at the Party's Overseas Command (August 1934). In 1935, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai studied at the Oriental University in the Soviet Union; she was an official delegate of the Indochinese Communist Party to the 7th Congress of the Communist International in Moscow.

In 1936, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai returned to the country to convey the instructions of the Communist International, then was appointed Secretary of the Saigon - Cho Lon City Party Committee and member of the Southern Regional Party Committee, directly leading the Southern uprising.

On July 30, 1940, she was arrested by the French colonialists at the Big Prison - Saigon and sentenced to death by the Saigon military court. On August 28, 1941, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai heroically sacrificed herself at the Ba Diem shooting range, Hoc Mon, Gia Dinh.

The life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai is a shining example of the will, spirit, determination and mettle of a steadfast and indomitable communist soldier, the pride of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of Nghe An province in particular.

Every year on the 6th day of the 7th lunar month, at the Memorial House of Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, agencies and people of Vinh City come to offer flowers and incense to commemorate her merits.
