Take samples for testing to clarify the cause of unusual fish deaths in Quy Hop
On the morning of July 2, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district established an inspection team to clarify the cause of the unusual fish deaths along Bac stream, in Chau Thanh commune.
Previously, according to local people's reports, in Chau Thanh commune, since the evening of June 30, there has been a phenomenon of dead fish and shrimp washing up on the banks of Bac stream.
On that basis, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district established an inspection team to go to the scene to survey and record the situation, and work with relevant agencies to collect water and fish samples for analysis and clarify the cause.
The delegation inspected along the banks of Bac stream through the villages of Trung Thanh, Tien Thanh, Cham Hieng, Cai and Binh Tien (Chau Thanh commune), and recorded scattered fish deaths; the stream water surface was clear but the bottom had sedimented mud, murky red in color.
Quy Hop District People's Committee has directed functional departments, Chau Thanh Commune People's Committee and localities where Bac stream flows through to urgently fix sanitation, collect dead fish, clear the flow, clean the water environment, as well as propagate to households not to collect dead shrimp and fish for use or sale.
Quy Hop People's Committee requested relevant authorities to promptly focus on monitoring, grasping the situation, examining the causes, and inspecting the above phenomenon to ensure water sources for people's daily life and production.
