The entrance exam for grade 10 and grade 9C of Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School (Do Luong district, Nghe An) had 2 valedictorians and 1 salutatorian.

Among them, Nguyen Bang Tam was the valedictorian of the province, Nguyen Tat Han won the runner-up position of the province and Nguyen Ha Vy was the valedictorian of the English - Chinese specialized class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Her achievements from primary to secondary school are very impressive: Bronze prize in Math for children of the province, grade 5; Encouragement prize in TOEFL for children of the province, grade 7; Second prize in Math for excellent students of the province, grade 9; Second prize in Science and Technology at the provincial level, grade 8; participated in many activities such as English Challenge, Children's Forum, Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress, published articles in Math for children magazine, Math for children...

Bang Tam modestly shared: “I have a specific study plan, mainly self-study, practice exercises every day and always try to understand the nature of the problem instead of memorizing. There are long evenings because I still can’t solve the problem, sometimes I feel tired and want to stop, but I think of my family, friends, teachers - the people who always believe in and accompany me - and so I continue to try.”

Nguyen Tat Han - 10th grade runner-up in the province

With 29 points (Math 9.75; Literature 9.5; English 9.75), Nguyen Tat Han was honored to become the province's second-highest scorer. Without extra classes or attending a center, the student from Hamlet 4, Thuong Son Commune studied on his own with extraordinary will and effort. He traveled 12 km to school every day and stayed at a relative's house at noon, but Han still maintained excellent academic performance and psychological stability throughout his exam preparation journey.

Han won the Third Prize in the Provincial Math Club for Children in Grade 5; the Bronze and Silver Prizes in Vioedu at the provincial level from Grade 6 to Grade 8; the Second Prize in the Provincial Math Olympiad for Excellent Students in Grade 9; and the Silver Medal in the Southeast Asian Math Olympiad in Grade 7.

“I focused on studying the textbooks, practicing many exam questions from previous years and learning from experience. When doing the test, I solved the easy questions for sure, then analyzed the difficult questions carefully to find the best solution,” Han shared.

After the 10th grade entrance exam, I continued to score 14.5 points in the specialized subject in the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and passed the specialized Math 1 class.

With a total score of 28.5 (Literature 9.25; Math 9.25; English 10), Ha Vy ranked 5th in the province and continued to make her mark when she became valedictorian of the specialized Chinese class of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School (17/20 specialized subject points).

During 4 years of middle school, I was always an excellent student, won first prize in English at the district level (grade 9), second prize in English at the provincial level (grade 9), first prize in science and technology at the provincial level (grade 9), and many other achievements.

“From the beginning of grade 9, I determined my goal of entering a specialized school, so I made a clear study plan, focusing on reviewing both basic and advanced knowledge. I studied foundational subjects in parallel with specialized subjects, practiced test questions regularly, and focused on improving my weak points. Near the exam, I reduced the intensity of practice questions to keep my mind relaxed,” Ha Vy shared.

Bang Tam is a well-rounded student, exemplary in her role as class monitor and energetic team leader. Tat Han is an intelligent, determined student who overcomes difficulties to study well despite living far from school. Ha Vy is a modest girl, passionate about foreign languages, with a clear mindset and spirit of progress. They are all shining examples, the pride of class 9C and the school.
