Taking advantage of favorable weather, Mr. Ho Chia Va in Muong Long 2 village, Muong Long commune, Ky Son district urgently harvested early ripe peaches in the garden to sell to traders who had placed orders in advance.

Mr. Ho Chia Va said: “His family currently has more than 150 peach trees and more than 1,000 three-flower plum trees that are preparing for harvest. Every year, these fruit trees bring in an income of 40 - 50 million VND, helping his family as well as many other households in the village escape from difficult situations.”

In particular, peaches and plums in Muong Long are grown on the hills and mountains, completely naturally, without using any pesticides, so they are always clean, trusted by traders and people, so they are very popular. The selling price at the garden is 20,000 VND/kg, sold in Muong Xen town is 25,000 VND/kg.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, a trader who regularly purchases fruit trees in Muong Long commune, although the price of imported peaches this year is 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg higher than in previous years. However, peaches still cannot meet the quantity of goods that she and her partners need to purchase.

Currently, the entire Muong Long commune has more than 25 hectares of peach trees of all kinds, of which more than 11 hectares are Australian and American peaches; these are two types of peaches that usually ripen 1-2 months earlier than the local stone peaches and the three-flower plum trees. Therefore, they always have a higher price, contributing to improving the lives of the people. |
