Dong Tien Hamlet of Dong Hieu Commune, Thai Hoa Town has 210 households, with 665 people. In 2015, the hamlet handed over 100 hectares of production land to TH Milk Company, meaning hundreds of workers were unemployed.
Faced with that reality, many households used land compensation money to invest in raising broiler chickens in the form of family farms. Since then, the movement of raising broiler chickens for sale in Dong Tien hamlet has developed strongly, with large numbers.
Mr. Truong Cong Nam's family built 3 chicken coops with a scale of 1,200 chickens/coop. After 3 years of raising chickens, the economic efficiency brought to the family is quite stable.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of Dong Tien Hamlet said: The movement of raising chickens in the hamlet is spontaneous, people learn from each other's experiences and read more documents, so most households raise chickens effectively. Currently, in the hamlet, there are 94 households investing in raising chickens with a scale of 500 - 3,500 chickens/batch. Every year, people in Dong Tien Hamlet raise 3 batches of chickens, supplying the market with about 140 tons of chicken meat, worth nearly 10 billion VND.
However, due to the spontaneous movement of raising chickens, the barns are mainly located in residential areas, easily causing environmental pollution. In addition, the output for the products is still passive, mainly the people contact to sell themselves, so it is unstable.
People in Dong Tien hamlet hope that relevant levels and sectors will strengthen training on chicken farming techniques as well as link up to find output for products, thereby developing sustainable livestock farming.
