Nam Dan organizes the Congress of Vietnamese Catholics to build and defend the Fatherland

Nam Dan district has 11 communes with Catholic people, 6 parishes, 19 parishes, 8 priests, 5 parish churches, 17 family churches; 3 religious orders: Quy Chinh Lovers of the Holy Cross Congregation, Van Loc Congregation, Quy Chinh Charity Missionaries Congregation with about 255 nuns; the whole district has over 3,371/42,709 households, over 15,033/168,553 people following Catholicism, accounting for over 8.9% of the district's population, Catholic people live in 36/156 blocks and hamlets.

Over the past 5 years (2017-2022), the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in Nam Dan district has continued to be maintained and promoted effectively, contributing to promoting the district's socio-economy as well as improving the criteria for building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in communes and towns throughout the district.

Parishioners properly implement the Party's policies, the State's laws, and local regulations. Speaking at the Congress, comrade Phan Hai Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and comrade Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the District Catholic Solidarity Committee in the past time.

To effectively carry out patriotic emulation movements in the coming time, comrades hope that Catholics will uphold the spirit of solidarity and well implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. Strengthen management, consolidate and improve the organization, improve the quality of activities of the District Catholic Solidarity Committee, and build a great national solidarity bloc.

Also at the Congress,Catholic Solidarity CommitteeThe district consulted and elected 23 comrades to the District Catholic Solidarity Committee for the 2022-2027 term. The first consultation meeting elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ha as Head of the District Catholic Solidarity Committee for the 2022-2027 term. The district sent 11 delegates to attend the Provincial Congress of Catholics for the construction and protection of the Fatherland for the 2022-2027 term.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics, period 2017 - 2022.
