Elevating national historical and cultural relics
(Baonghean.vn) Recently, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee announced the detailed planning of the Lang Vac Archaeological Site Conservation Area associated with eco-tourism. This is an important event in the conservation of the National Archaeological Site as well as the socio-economic development of Thai Hoa Town. On the occasion of the 13th Lang Vac Festival (from February 7 to 9 of the lunar calendar), Nghe An Newspaper interviewed Mr. Dinh Van Thi - Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee about this issue.
PV: Could you tell us about the role of Vac Village Festival in the spiritual life of ethnic groups in Phu Quy?
GrandfatherDinh Van Thi:The Lang Vac Festival has been held since 1999 when the Lang Vac site was recognized and granted a National Archaeological Site Certificate. Up to now, after 12 times of organization, the festival has increasingly attracted a large number of people and tourists from all over the world to participate.
Lang Vac Temple currently worships 18 Hung Kings, the National Mother, Ba Chua Kho, Cao Son, Cao Cac; the second mother of the mountain... and many other gods; it has truly become a place of healthy religious activities in the area.

Organizing the annual festival is an opportunity for people to show their respect to their ancestors, creating an environment and conditions for spiritual and religious activities of people near and far. Thereby, it aims to educate the tradition of patriotism, the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", the deep gratitude of the people towards those who have contributed to opening the country; at the same time, it is an opportunity for people of all ethnic groups in Phu Quy land to gather and demonstrate the spirit of community solidarity.
Reporter: The Provincial People's Committee has just decided to announce the detailed planning of the Lang Vac Archaeological Site Conservation Area associated with eco-tourism. Can you elaborate on this issue?
GrandfatherDinh Van Thi:On February 16, 2012, the People's Committee of Thai Hoa Town held a ceremony to announce the detailed planning of the archaeological site conservation area associated with Lang Vac eco-tourism in Nghia Hoa Commune. According to Decision No. 24/QD. UBND-CN on approving the detailed planning of the archaeological site conservation area associated with Lang Vac eco-tourism, the investor is the People's Committee of the Town, the consulting unit is Nghe An Construction Design and Planning Consulting Joint Stock Company. Accordingly, Lang Vac will become a national historical and cultural relic site; an ecological, resort and entertainment tourism area combined with research, learning about the identity, customs, and festivals of the ethnic groups in the region and the local historical and cultural relics that have been ranked, and is one of the important tourist destinations in the tourism development system of the province.

According to the planning announcement, the Lang Vac Archaeological Site Conservation Area has a total area of 155.94 hectares, divided into 6 main functional areas: Archaeological area, Lang Vac communal house, landscape trees (including items: Outdoor artifact display area; Lang Vac communal house; festival yard; walking path; fountain; lake; green area); administrative area, tourism services (including items: reception and operation house, tour guide, study in the relic; archaeological research and excavation center; service works; ancient Vietnamese house area; resting huts...); resort area with villas, motels and auxiliary works; renovated residential area, mixed with garden houses, townhouses; reserve development area with public works, commercial services; green protection area combined with afforestation...
PV: Can you tell us about the organization of the 13th Lang Vac Festival to make it successful and leave an impression on visitors?
GrandfatherDinh Van Thi:The town has issued a plan to organize the 2012 Vac Village Festival, established a festival organizing committee, sub-committees and assigned specific tasks to each department and organization; issued regulations and rules for sports competitions, cultural and artistic exchanges during the festival; developed detailed scenarios for the Ceremony and Festival to ensure solemnity and promote the traditional values of the ethnic groups in Phu Quy.
At the same time, establish inspection teams to inspect cultural activities and cultural services before, during and after the festival; inspect the work of ensuring security, order, and food hygiene and safety in the area; strictly prohibit all disguised gambling games. In particular, direct the People's Committee of Nghia Hoa commune to launch a campaign to mobilize people in the commune to donate found antiques for display at the Lang Vac Festival; deploy services for tourists.
