Reporting at the conference, the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade said that industrial and commercial activities in 2020 were extremely difficult due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, but with the efforts of the entire industry, especially the business community and production and business units in the area, industrial and commercial activities in 2020 achieved remarkable results.

Import turnover in the first 12 months of 2020 is estimated at 735 million USD, down 5.9% compared to 2019, exceeding 41.35% of the plan.
However, indicators such as industrial production value, import and export turnover and total goods circulation, although growing compared to 2019, did not reach the set plan.
Basic indicators in 2021: Industrial production index (IIP) increased by 15% compared to 2020; Industrial production value: 90,480 billion VND, growth rate reached 16% compared to 2020; Total retail sales of goods: 73,000 billion VND, up 8.8%; Total export turnover: 850 million USD, up 6.25%.
After listening to the opinions of the delegates and giving instructions at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh acknowledged and commended the efforts ofIndustry and Tradein the past time. Although in the context of many socio-economic difficulties, many industrial products and trade services have grown highly compared to the same period.

2021 is the first year to implement the goals of the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021 - 2025) and the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2021 - 2025 term. Therefore, based on the assessment of conditions and targets, the industry needs to focus on promoting industrial restructuring associated with growth model innovation, improving productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. Improve the efficiency of developing economic zones, industrial parks and industrial clusters; speed up the progress of ongoing industrial projects to soon come into operation to add to the newly increased production value, contributing to completing the 2021 plan targets.

Besides creating resources to attract large projects, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested that the Department of Industry and Trade needs toFocus on boosting exports, especially processed products with high added value, gradually reducing the export of raw and semi-processed materials. Actively and proactively enhance trade promotion to exploit and expand export markets and product consumption; Actively stabilize the market before, during and after Lunar New Year.

The conference also awarded 5 typical rural industrial products to production establishments in the province.
