On the afternoon of December 25, the Ministry of Justice held a national conference to review judicial work in 2023, evaluate work results up to mid-term; orient judicial work tasks until the end of the term and main tasks and solutions for work in 2024.

ENSURE PROGRESS AND QUALITY OF TASKS
In 2023, the Ministry of Justice has focused resources on timely implementation, ensuring progress and quality of the assigned tasks. The direction and management work continues to have many innovations and higher efficiency. The results of work in 2023 in most areas of the Ministry of Justice have increased compared to the same period in 2022, in which, there are a number of areas of work achieving outstanding results.
The work of building and perfecting institutions and laws has been paid attention to and focused on by ministries and branches, and has achieved many positive results. In 2023, the Ministry of Justice and ministries and branches have developed, submitted for promulgation or promulgated under their authority 515 legal documents, and since the beginning of the term, there have been 2,198 documents. Thereby, contributing to perfecting our country's legal system; promptly and fully institutionalizing the Party's policies and guidelines.

The work of checking and reviewing legal documents was carried out promptly with a large volume of work, contributing to ensuring the unity, publicity, transparency and feasibility of the legal system. The Ministry of Justice organized 10 inter-sectoral inspection teams to inspect the implementation of the law on handling administrative violations.
Communication and dissemination of policies, laws and mediation at the grassroots level have been effectively implemented. The electronic civil status database has been built and operated effectively, maintaining connection and sharing smoothly with the National Population Database. Since the beginning of the term, ministries, branches and localities have organized 1,464,569 direct legal dissemination and education sessions for more than 100 million people.
The civil judgment enforcement work achieved the highest results ever. The institution in the field of judicial support continued to be improved, meeting the requirements of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and State management. Since the beginning of the term, civil judgment enforcement agencies have completed 1,609,462 cases, with over VND 211,073 billion.

Legal aid work has many impressive results, especially the establishment of a direct legal aid mechanism in criminal investigations nationwide, the number of legal aid cases is the highest ever. International legal work and international cooperation have many important marks.
In addition to the achieved results, the quality of law-making and law enforcement work is not high; the debt situation of issuing documents detailing effective laws and resolutions has not been thoroughly resolved; the effectiveness of State management of judicial support work has not been as expected; the number of cases of execution of judgments transferred to the next period is still high; the effectiveness of administrative judgment enforcement has not achieved the desired results...

In the coming time, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang suggested that the Judicial sector should make more efforts, overcome difficulties and obstacles to continue performing important tasks: Institutional building must be timely and of high quality; propose amendments to the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents 2015, the Law and Ordinance Building Program for 2024 and 2025.
