Nghi Cong Nam commune is a locality with a very large number of livestock, because there is a pig farm with a scale of 1,200 pigs located in the area. Therefore, the work of disease prevention for livestock is of special concern to the Party Committee and local authorities.
Mr. Dinh Ba Hao - Head of Veterinary Department of Nghi Cong Nam commune said:The commune has reorganized the Steering Committee, specifically assigned members to go to the grassroots to instruct and propagate livestock households to implement measures to prevent African swine fever. At the same time, the commune's veterinary team has been directed to organize the spraying of disinfectants in the market area, slaughterhouses, and livestock barns to limit the spread of pathogens.

Propaganda for people to practice 5 no's: Do not hide epidemics; do not buy, sell, or transport sick or dead pigs; do not throw dead pigs into the environment; do not use untreated leftover food; do not slaughter or consume sick livestock.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung in Hamlet 7, Nghi Trung Commune - owner of a pig farm said: The family is very worried about the African swine fever epidemic. Therefore, he has banned the farm, no one in or out, and monitored it 24/7. He sprinkled lime powder and disinfected the barn area. Currently, there are nearly 400 pigs in the barn, including 300 meat pigs and nearly 100 breeding pigs.

Up to now, Nghi Loc district has more than 41 thousand pigs. Of which, there are 4 large farms with a scale of 200 - 1,200 pigs. The rest are mainly small-scale farms. Because African swine fever currently has no vaccine or medicine to prevent and treat it, when pigs are infected, the mortality rate is 100%, so disease prevention is a top priority. The district's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station has advised the district People's Committee to set up checkpoints at traffic hubs to control and prevent the transport of animals and animal products into the area.
At the same time, Nghi Loc district prepared 650 liters of benzoxide chemicals and carried out general cleaning and disinfection throughout the district.
Quynh Luu prepares 600 liters of chemicals
Quynh Luu has a total herd of more than 45 thousand pigs. This is an area bordering Thanh Hoa province where African swine fever has appeared. To strengthen epidemic prevention, the locality has proactively purchased 600 liters of disinfectant chemicals.

Recently, Quynh Luu district has proactively prevented African swine fever in the communes of Quynh Bang, Quynh Van and Quynh Tan. These are three localities with relatively large pig herds and are key pig farming areas of the district.
Through on-site inspections in three communes, the working delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive work of localities in preventing African swine fever.
The communes promptly established steering committees and issued plans to implement directives and plans from higher levels on African swine fever prevention. On average, each day, the communes broadcast 2-3 times on the commune and hamlet loudspeaker systems so that people can understand and prevent African swine fever./.
