Nghe An: Raiding a ham and sausage facility at midnight, discovered many Chinese additives
(Baonghean.vn) - Breaking into a ham and sausage production facility in Vinh city, police discovered many packages of white and red powder identified as preservatives, beef flavoring, smoke-making, and crispy, chewy ham and sausage floating around, of unknown origin.
At 3:00 a.m. on January 24, 2019, the Interdisciplinary Team 389 of Vinh City (Nghe An) suddenly inspected a number of ham and sausage production facilities in Vinh City. Through the inspection, the authorities discovered that a number of facilities were using ingredients of unknown origin in food processing.

At the ham, sausage and sausage production facility of Mr. Nguyen Van Anh in Block 1, Hong Son Ward, during the inspection, the facility was producing and packaging hundreds of kilograms of ham, sausage and sausages of all kinds.

Upon inspection, the facility owner was unable to present any documents or certificates related to the food. Upon checking the freezers, the authorities discovered hundreds of kilograms of ingredients, including frozen lard and minced meat. None of these food ingredients had labels indicating their origin or expiration date.

Authorities also discovered many white and red powder packets identified as preservatives, beef flavoring, smoke-making, and sausage packaging. All of the additives were of unknown origin. The facility owner admitted to buying them from the market to process food.

At the same time, the authorities suddenly inspected Quang Trung Food Company Ltd. in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city.
Here, the authorities discovered that the facility was processing hundreds of kilograms of ham and sausage using food additives such as: crispiness, toughness, and flavoring agents produced in China. The facility owner could not present documents proving the origin of the above additives.

The authorities have drawn up a record and temporarily detained all food additives of unknown origin for handling in accordance with the law.
