Nghe An applies forest fire surveillance camera system for the first time
(Baonghean.vn) - The installation and use of the forest fire monitoring camera system in Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) has been effective, helping forest owners and forest management units grasp and monitor information about forests anytime, anywhere, promptly detecting fires for handling.
Before entering the hot season this year (April 2020), Nghe An province installed a 360-degree camera system to monitor forest fires at the Nghi Loc district protective forest management board with a total cost of over 400 million VND, taken from the provincial budget.

This camera system has 4 eyes, placed at 4 forest points, using solar batteries to operate. The task of this camera system is to monitor the situation of forest areas 24/24h and transmit signals to the Forest Protection Management Board, helping the on-duty force to detect unusual events and forest fires for timely handling.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Son - Head of Nghi Loc Protective Forest Management Board said: "Since the beginning of the year, on an area of more than 5,000 hectares of forest managed by Nghi Loc Protective Forest Management Board, there have been 5 fire outbreaks. However, thanks to this camera system, the forces have detected and handled it promptly, so there is no damage to the forest."
It is known that the cameras have a 360-degree scanning range to observe all sides. The camera's vision is up to 10 km, so it can detect fire spots in far away places. In addition, the transmitted signal is also quite clear so that the force can accurately determine the location.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Lam - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: This is the first time the forest fire monitoring camera system has been applied in Nghe An. In the coming time, we will study to install more systems in Nam Dan, Dien Chau, Do Luong, Yen Thanh districts and Vinh City.
During a recent forest inspection, this camera system was highly appreciated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan. In addition, the Deputy Minister encouraged Nghe An province to study and install new locations and arrange additional connection channels with inter-sectoral units, the Forest Protection Department, and the government... so that these agencies can also receive signals, thereby having effective firefighting coordination plans when incidents occur.
