Launching the "Tet tree planting, eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho" Spring Ky Hoi 2019, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong affirmed the role, practical and long-term significance and humanistic value of tree planting and forest planting. At the same time, he requested relevant levels, branches, units and all people in the province to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws on forest protection and development; the directions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on the plan for tree planting, forest planting and forest protection in 2019.

Following Uncle Ho's teaching "Spring is the season for tree planting/Making the country more and more springy", over the past 59 years, Tree Planting Festival has become a custom, a beautiful cultural feature of early Spring, creating a widespread influence at all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and people of all walks of life in Nghe An.

The annual Spring Tree Planting Festival movement has really promoted the tree planting, forest planting and protection movement of the province, achieving many important results, increasing the forest coverage of the province to 57.7%. The forest protection, tree planting and forest planting movement has also contributed to the completion of socio-economic development targets, hunger eradication, poverty reduction and maintaining security and national defense of the province: In 2018, the export turnover of wood and non-timber forest products reached nearly 180 million USD; creating jobs and stable income for tens of thousands of households in remote areas.

According to the tree planting and forestation plan of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2019, the whole province strives to plant about 17,000 hectares of new forests; protect well 951,400 hectares of existing forests, protect 76,000 hectares of forests, and take care of 46,740 hectares of planted forests.

At the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Van Huy called on all classes of people in the province to respond and actively participate in planting trees and protecting forests, bringing great economic efficiency and contributing to protecting the ecological environment.

Chairman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee Nguyen Tien Dung also responded with commitments to practically and effectively implement the Tet tree planting movement of the Spring of the Pig 2019, associated with completing the plan to plant trees, protect and care for forests in 2019.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial leaders, provincial departments, branches and people of Nghi Loc district organized tree planting in Lam Nghiep hamlet, Nghi Lam commune, Nghi Loc district.
