Delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held an incense and flower offering ceremony at the Mausoleum of King Mai, Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district.
Before the King's spirit, the delegation respectfully offered flowers, gifts, and incense to express their respect and gratitude for the great contributions of Emperor Mai Thuc Loan - who led our people to raise the flag of uprising and establish the independent Van An state in the 8th century.

Next, the provincial leaders and representatives of departments, agencies and organizations at the provincial and Nam Dan district levels planted trees along the road to the Mausoleum of King Mai, Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district. This year, due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, to ensure epidemic prevention and control, Nghe An province did not organize the Ceremony.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Spring is the season for tree planting, making the country more and more springy", "Tree planting festival forever remembers Uncle Ho" has become a fine traditional custom of the nation, initiating annual actions to protect forests, plant trees and afforestation by sectors, levels and our people, contributing importantly and practically to the cause of building and developing the country sustainably.

Faced with the impact of global climate change, extreme weather phenomena, storms, floods, landslides, droughts, and saltwater intrusion causing serious consequences to people's lives and property, there is a need to protect and develop forests more drastically, which is both an urgent task and a long-term strategic task. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed and issued Directive No. 45/CT-TTg on organizing the "Tet Tree Planting" movement and strengthening forest protection and development from the beginning of 2021.

Accordingly, in order to promote the results achieved in recent years, overcome shortcomings and inadequacies, and proactively implement the work of managing, protecting, planting trees and afforesting, the Prime Minister requested that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021, the whole country join hands and contribute to planting 1 billion new trees in the period of 2021 - 2025.

Implementing Directive No. 45/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, Nghe An registered to plant 100 million trees, or 10% of the target of planting 1 billion trees nationwide in the period of 2021 - 2025. Accordingly, from now to 2025, Nghe An strives to plant 20 million trees each year, including scattered forest planting, greening bare hills and planting trees to create landscapes in both rural and urban areas./.
