Nghe An summarizes 5 years of implementing Decree 21 of the Government on defense zones
Over the past 5 years, Nghe An has achieved many important results in building a solid defense zone, maintaining political stability, and developing socio-economy.
On the morning of July 17, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP dated February 22, 2019 of the Government on defense zones, period 2019-2024. Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Provincial Defense Zone chaired the conference.
Attending and directing the conference was Major General Le Hong Nhan - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 4. Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of 21 districts, cities, towns; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and units in the province.
During the 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP of the Government, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the management and administration of the Provincial People's Committee, Nghe An has achieved important results in building a solid defense zone, maintaining political stability, and creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development.
The national defense posture and people's security posture in the province are constantly consolidated and enhanced. The awareness of cadres, party members, armed forces and people of the province about national defense and security tasks, about building and operating defense zones is enhanced, creating national solidarity in building and protecting the Fatherland.
The overall quality, level and combat strength of the armed forces have been raised... contributing to the successful implementation of the two strategic tasks of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Specifically, Nghe An has successfully organized 2 provincial-level defense and civil defense drills; 23 district-level defense drills; many drills on flood and storm prevention, search and rescue, forest fire prevention and fighting, etc., which were highly appreciated by Military Region 4.
At the conference, the delegates focused on analyzing and clarifying the limitations, causes, and lessons learned over the past 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP of the Government. Based on forecasts and analysis of the international, regional, domestic, and local contexts and situations, they proposed directions and tasks for the effective implementation of Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP in the coming time.
Accordingly, Nghe An will continue to strictly implement directives, resolutions, decrees, and guiding documents of all levels on defense zones; proactively and actively build Nghe An province into a solid defense zone with comprehensive potential and strength, in order to prevent and defeat the plots and activities of "peaceful evolution" and violent overthrow of hostile forces; effectively prevent "self-evolution" and "self-transformation", maintain political stability for socio-economic development, accelerate the industrialization and modernization process; effectively handle situations related to national defense and security; firmly maintain sovereignty over the air, border, sea and islands, be ready to defeat aggressive wars, and firmly protect the area in all situations.
Also at the conference, the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP of the Government./.
