Nghe An strengthens inspection and handling of food safety violations during the summer

The document stated: Every year, the situation of food contamination and food poisoning often occurs in a complicated manner and tends to increase in the summer, especially in collective kitchens, ready-to-eat meal providers and street food businesses around factories, schools and hospitals.

To proactively ensure food safety and prevent food poisoning in the summer, the Department of Health requests the People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city to direct the implementation of directive documents of the Secretariat, Prime Minister, and Provincial Party Committee on strengthening state management responsibilities, ensuring security,food safetyin the new situation.
The People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city shall strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the implementation of food safety conditions; detect and strictly handle violations and publicly announce them on the media to promptly warn the community.
Direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns, socio-political organizations and functional units in the area to strengthen propaganda, supervision and implementation of food safety control solutions to prevent food poisoning in accordance with the actual situation in the locality.
In particular, propaganda and guidance for people to select, prepare, process, preserve and use safe food; absolutely do not collect, catch, trade, or use strange animals and plants that pose a risk of poisoning such as wild mushrooms, strange tubers, wild fruits, strange insects, etc.; pay attention to instructing on safe processing measures for traditional products or local customs; prevent poisoning caused by natural toxins to households and people living on the fields (for mountainous districts, use communication discs in ethnic languages for propaganda).
Disseminate food safety regulations to food service establishments, collective kitchens, crowded meals organized in the community and street food establishments in schools, hospitals, industrial parks, export processing zones... Require establishments to absolutely not use food ingredients, food products that are spoiled, damaged, moldy, of unknown origin, or expired for processing or business; do not use meat from livestock or poultry that died of disease or died of unknown causes as food or for food processing.
Medical Centers of districts, towns and Vinh city prepare plans, forces, means, medicines, supplies and chemicals to promptly overcome and minimize the impact when food poisoning occurs; handle food poisoning cases (if any) according to regulations; direct public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities to promptly inform the local Medical Centers when receiving treatment and diagnosing or suspecting a food poisoning case./.
