(Baonghean.vn) - The province's growth rate in the first 6 months of the year reached 8.44%; ranked 2nd in the North Central region, ranked 18th out of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities.

On the morning of June 24, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting for June 2022 under the chair of Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches. The meeting was held online at 21 connecting points in districts, cities and towns.

Reporting on the socio-economic development results in the first 6 months of 2022, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Xuan Duc said that the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2022 is estimated at VND 46,426 billion, up 8.44%, higher than the growth scenario set for the first 6 months of the year of 7.7-8.3%. Nghe An has the second highest growth rate in the North Central region, ranked 18th out of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities.

Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at 11,138 billion VND, up 4.14%; the industry and construction sector is estimated at 13,756 billion VND, up 11.65% (industry alone is estimated at 7,509 billion VND, up 12.67%); the service sector is estimated at 19,099 billion VND, up 9.22%; product tax minus product subsidy is estimated at 2,432 billion VND, up 5.22%.

The index of industrial production (IIP) in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 10.06%. Total export turnover of goods is estimated at 1,126.7 million USD, up 24.4% over the same period in 2021, reaching 56.33% of the plan.

Tourism activities in the area have recovered positively after more than 2 years of disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is estimated that in the first 6 months of the year, the whole province welcomed and served 4.07 million tourists, an increase of 137% over the same period in 2021. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 7,050 billion VND, of which tourism revenue is estimated at 3,269 billion VND, an increase of 221% over the same period in 2021.

State budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at VND10,100 billion, reaching 67.4% of the estimate. Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND9,162 billion, reaching 66.9% of the estimate; revenue from import-export activities is estimated at VND937 billion, equal to 72.1% of the estimate.

The business investment environment continues to improve. As of June 15, 2022, the province has attracted 50 new projects and adjusted 59 projects; the total newly granted and increased capital is more than VND 26,435 billion, of which the newly granted capital is more than VND 13,256 billion. Compared to the same period in 2021, the number of newly granted projects increased by 13.64%, the total newly granted capital increased by 1.68 times.

Total social investment capital in the area in the first 6 months of 2022 is estimated at 43,158 billion VND, up 19.84% over the same period. As of June 20, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed more than 1,536 billion VND, reaching 26.36% of the plan.

Currently, the draft Provincial Planning is continuing to be completed on the basis of receiving and explaining opinions from agencies, units, communities and related organizations, expected to be submitted to the Central Appraisal Council for appraisal in July 2022; striving to complete the approval in 2022 to ensure the quality and progress set out.

The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and direction; National defense, security, social order and safety are maintained. Administrative reform, strengthening of discipline and order continue to receive attention; the application of information technology in administrative reform is implemented synchronously and drastically.

Despite many positive results, the province's industrial production index in the first 6 months of the year increased much lower than the same period in 2021; Tax debt remains high (VND 1,008 billion). The disbursement rate of public investment capital plan is higher than the national average, but lower than the same period.

The shortage of labor, especially in the tourism industry, is huge. Human trafficking and child trafficking crimes in mountainous districts remain complicated.
