Nghe An: Highlights September 17

*On the morning of September 17, the Government organizedPrime Minister's Conference with foreign investment enterpriseswith the theme "Overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities, cooperating for development".

Opening the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Vietnam consistently and affirms its view that the foreign-invested economic sector is an important component of the Vietnamese economy, and is encouraged and facilitated for long-term development, cooperation and healthy competition with other economic sectors. The State respects and protects the legitimate and legal rights and interests of investors; ensuring the harmony of interests between the State, investors and workers.

The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the companionship and contributions of foreign investors in the process of protecting, building and developing the country, and sympathized with investors facing difficulties due to the domestic and international situation. The Vietnamese Government always cares, sincerely listens, shares and strives to resolve difficulties and obstacles, creating all favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to operate.

Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that Nghe An has been preparing "5 readiness" in terms of: Land, essential infrastructure, human resources, innovation, substantial improvement of the investment and business environment and readiness to support to attract investors, including foreign investors.

*In the afternoon of the same day, the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the Transport sector, chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhnational online meeting2nd time. Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested localities to establish a Steering Committee to create transparency from top to bottom, thereby promoting the progress of projects according to the set goals. Because the province with good infrastructure development will have rapid socio-economic development.

*On the morning of September 17, in Con Cuong district, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, "For Beloved Truong Sa - Hoang Sa" Club in collaboration with Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training and related units organized the program "Awarding scholarships for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school yearsfor ethnic minority students in Nghe An province".

Attending the program on behalf of the Scholarship Fund were comrade Truong My Hoa - former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Head of the Club "For beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa".

Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has awarded 140 scholarships to 140 students who are typical examples of Thai, Kho Mu, Mong, Tho ethnic groups in mountainous districts of Nghe An. Among them, many students have especially difficult circumstances but have overcome adversity to achieve good academic results.

*On the morning of September 17, at Dien Thanh commune beach, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the People's Committee of Nghe An province to organize the National Launching Ceremony in response to the campaign."Make the World Cleaner" Campaignyear 2022

The "Clean Up the World" campaign was launched globally by the United Nations Environment Program in 1993 and is held in the third week of September every year.

To date, the campaign has become an important annual international environmental event, attracting the participation of more than 180 countries, including Vietnam.

*Nghe An province has just organizedCertificate Award CeremonyTypical rural industrial products at provincial level in 2022 for 25 products and selected 11/25 products to participate in voting at the Northern region level.

This year, the program to vote for typical rural industrial products in Nghe An attracted 84 participating products.

*On September 15, 2022, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 2786/QD-UBND, clearly stipulating the areas eligible foragricultural insurance premium support. There are 5 districts supported with rice; 5 districts supported with buffaloes and cows and 4 districts supported with pigs. Accordingly, there are 5 districts supported including: Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Anh Son, Quy Chau and Tuong Duong.

*Nghe An currently lacks more than 6,000 teachers., and is one of the provinces with the largest shortage of teachers in the country. This also makes it difficult to organize teaching and learning in many schools in the area. Faced with this reality, Nghe An Newspaper had an interview with Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training to clarify related issues.

*Vinh City Police said on the afternoon of September 17 that they had arrested a suspect who robbed four phone cards on the afternoon of September 15 in Hung Loc Commune, Vinh City.

The subject is Cao Xuan Hoang (born in 1990), residing in Anh Son district. At the investigation agency, the subject confessed that due to his game addiction, he stole a phone card to top up his account.

It is known that Hoang had a criminal record and had just finished serving a prison term for robbery and was back to his old ways.

Currently, Vinh City Police are temporarily detaining suspect Cao Xuan Hoang for further investigation./.
