Nghe An honors 85 outstanding blood donors
On the afternoon of June 13, at the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Nghe An province held a ceremony to honor outstanding individuals in voluntary blood donation activities in the period of 2022-2024.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of leaders of a number of departments, agencies and 99 outstanding volunteers in the voluntary blood donation movement for the period 2022-2024.
Nghe An is considered one of the units that developed the voluntary blood donation movement quite early in the country, with a rapid growth rate. In 2010, the number of blood units only reached 6,708 units. By the period of 2022-2024, the whole province received 99,512 units of blood, the rate of population participating in blood donation reached over 1.2%, in which the number of families participating in blood donation is increasing; emergency blood donation clubs, rare blood group Rh(-) have been established, the online blood donation registration model has been put into operation, this is a force of regular blood donors.
The voluntary blood donation movement has attracted the attention and response of many people from all walks of life. Many examples of blood donation from 15 times, 20 times, 40 times or more are increasing. The number of families with many members participating in blood donation is increasing. In particular, the rate of repeat blood donors and emergency blood donations reached 67%, contributing to saving the lives of thousands of patients at hospitals throughout the province.
Recognizing and expressing gratitude to all those who have participated in voluntary blood donation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh hopes that the act of donating blood to save lives will continue to be promoted and spread in the community.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the members of the steering committee to continue to participate in mobilizing reserve blood donors right in their families and units under their management, considering blood donation as a standard, a cultural beauty with humanity; promoting propaganda and education on the tradition of humanity among cadres, members, volunteers and people with the spirit of "Mutual love" and being ready to help each other in times of trouble and risk.
In addition, continue to promote the effectiveness of the Live Blood Bank and Rare Blood Club model at units, to promptly have emergency blood in emergency cases; arrange and schedule blood donation at appropriate units to ensure sufficient blood supply for emergency, treatment and prevention in mass accidents and serious incidents...
At the ceremony, 85 individuals and families who are outstanding in the voluntary blood donation movement in the province during the 2022-2024 period were honored. Among them, individuals have donated blood at least 5 times, with some having donated blood 40 times.
Also on this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society honored and rewarded 7 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in the "Million Steps of Kindness" Campaign, bringing Nghe An province to high achievements, ranking 3rd in the country, and being honored and rewarded by the Central Society at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
