MANY DEFENSE - SECURITY TASKS ARE COMPLETED EXCELLENTLY

In 2020, in a difficult context, but with the consistent direction of the Central Government, the Military Region 4 Command, along with high consensus, unity, close and effective coordination in leadership, direction, supervision and administration between the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, provincial armed forces and the efforts of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the support of the people, the socio-economic situation, national defense and security of the province have achieved many remarkable results.

In particular, national defense and security were consolidated and enhanced; contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty, creating a stable environment to promote socio-economic development of the province. Many national defense and security tasks were successfully completed.

Notably: Party committees, authorities at all levels and armed forces have regularly and seriously grasped, promptly and effectively implemented, in accordance with the actual situation, the directives of the Central Government, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Military Region 4 Command, the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Party Committee. Promoting the strength of all levels, sectors and specialized forces, well performing the task of protecting sovereignty, border security and sea areas.

Party building, agency and unit building, and armed forces building continue to receive attention; unit discipline and order are promoted. Political security and social order and safety are ensured; successfully protecting Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term; especially the 19th Provincial Party Congress and important events taking place in the province.

Regularly pay attention to building the Defense Zone, constantly improve the effectiveness of State management of national defense and security; closely combine socio-economic development with national defense and security, deploy many good models, creative and effective methods.

National defense and security education and law dissemination continue to be innovated in content and diversified in form; gradually attaching importance to training and using resources according to the motto "4 on-site" right at the grassroots level.

In addition, in the face of the complicated situation of natural disasters and the Covid-19 pandemic; with the core and pioneering role, the Military, Border Guard, and Police forces have, together with the political system and organizations at all levels, proactively developed plans, prepared forces and means, closely coordinated, and promptly responded to situations.

With these outstanding achievements and results, in 2020, the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police were awarded the Government's emulation flag, and the Provincial Border Guard Command was awarded the Ministry of National Defense's flag. The people of all ethnic groups in the province are united, united, and increasingly trust the leadership and management of Party committees, authorities at all levels, and the people's armed forces.

CLOSELY COMBINATION BETWEEN NATIONAL DEFENSE AND SECURITY WITH SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

In 2021, Nghe An province has set out 10 key tasks in national defense and security. In his concluding and closing remarks at the Conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, sectors, organizations and armed forces seriously grasp and make efforts to implement the groups of solutions and tasks identified and directed by all levels and the Military Region 4 Command.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized focusing on a number of specific tasks such as: Organizing the dissemination and drastic implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term; directives and resolutions of the Party, State laws, guiding circulars of ministries and branches, especially orders, directives and plans of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Military Region 4 Command, and the Border Guard Command on defense and security tasks.

In addition, it is necessary to closely combine national defense and security with socio-economic development, especially in strategic and key areas. Promote the combined strength of the great national unity bloc to build a national defense posture, associated with a strong people's security posture and a strong people's border defense; build a solid defense area.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested close coordination between forces, proactively monitoring and grasping the situation; forecasting and promptly handling situations related to political security, social order and safety, avoiding being passive and surprised, especially at the time of the 13th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Along with that, doing a good job of education, fostering knowledge of national defense and security, raising awareness, responsibility and action of all people towards the task of strengthening national defense and security, protecting the Fatherland.

All levels and sectors need to effectively implement military recruitment and training in early 2021; prepare and organize drills in the Provincial Defense Zone and the defense zones of 5 districts to achieve good results, ensuring absolute safety.

The head of the provincial People's Committee also noted that it is necessary to prepare well in all aspects to be ready to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue; promptly protect people's lives and property; and continue to implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

On the other hand, it is necessary to continue to seriously and effectively implement Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (12th tenure) on strengthening Party building and rectification in conjunction with implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and resolutions of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee on Party building work.

Implement well social policies, policies for the Army's rear, policies for people with meritorious services; activities of "repaying gratitude", "remembering the source when drinking water", especially during the Lunar New Year 2021.
