Glorious milestones

In the history of formation and development of youth movements, Nghe An is a province where the Youth Union and Youth movement developed very early.

The Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has gone through 18 congresses. To suit the requirements and tasks of each revolutionary period, along with the Youth Union of the whole country, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has changed its name 7 times. Of which, from 1977 - 1991 it was named the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe Tinh Province, and from 1992 to present it is the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An Province.

During the two resistance wars against France and the US to save the country, Nghe An youth made worthy contributions together with the Party Committee and people of the province to excellently fulfill the important responsibility of being the great rear of the great frontline.

During the renovation period, the youth of the whole province have promptly and flexibly changed the direction of the Union's work to suit the trend of the times, contributing to promoting the construction and protection of the homeland and the country, and actively and effectively implementing major movements: "Youth starting a business" and "Youth protecting the country"; "Five years of proactive economic and social development and national defense", "Four companions with youth on the path of establishing a career".

Since the 11th National Youth Union Congress, the Youth Union has proactively and effectively implemented the following movements and action programs: Volunteer Youth; Creative Youth; Youth Volunteers to Protect the Fatherland; "Accompanying Youth in Studying"; "Accompanying Youth in Starting a Business and Establishing a Career"; "Accompanying Youth in Training and Developing Life Skills, Improving Physical Fitness, and Spiritual and Cultural Life". Many practical movements, models, and action programs in socio-economic development, national defense and security protection have contributed to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.

Typical examples

In 2023, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee decided to honor 16 outstanding young party members and award the noble Hero Ly Tu Trong Award to 13 outstanding youth union cadres.

These are exemplary young party members with many innovative initiatives in their work, excellent achievements in study and work; energetic union cadres, exemplary in their work, good at developing family economy, creative in gathering young people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong affirmed that over the past time, the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system have always paid attention, placed great trust and expectations, and created all favorable conditions for Nghe An youth to study, train and develop comprehensively.

Hopefully, in the coming time, the outstanding individuals honored in the program as well as the youth of Nghe An will continue to promote their capacity to contribute to building the Party and the Youth Union stronger and stronger.

2023 is the first year to implement the action program to implement the Resolution of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels, in conjunction with the mid-term assessment of the implementation of the action program to implement the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. From that goal, the youth union members of the province need to make efforts together with the Party Committee and the people to compete to successfully implement the Resolution of the 19th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress to be determined to "bring Nghe An to develop rapidly and sustainably; strive to make Nghe An a fairly developed province in the Northern region by 2025, and a fairly developed province in the whole country by 2030".
