Nghe An: Commune withdraws document requesting people to make medical declarations due to F1 cases appearing in the area
(Baonghean.vn) - Although not receiving official information, Quynh Doi commune hastily issued a notice asking people to come and declare their health because of F1 connection.
On the afternoon of August 20, Mr. Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Doi Commune (Quynh Luu District), said that the commune had withdrawn the document he signed the same morning regarding Covid-19 Prevention and Control in the area.
Previously, Quynh Doi commune issued a document requesting people who had been to a store in the area on the evening of August 19 to immediately go to the commune health station to make a medical declaration due to being related to F1.
According to Mr. Hung, on the evening of August 19, the leaders of Quynh Doi commune received information that Quynh Yen commune was quarantining a person. This person was a bus assistant traveling from Nha Trang city to Hanoi. One of the passengers arriving in Hanoi was tested for Covid-19 and the result was positive.
"Through information gathering, we learned that the bus assistant had just gone to a store in Quynh Doi commune that evening to shop. That's why I signed the above document early this morning. But not long after, the district health center announced that the passenger's test result was negative," said Mr. Hung.
Immediately after the commune issued the document and posted it on social networks, many people shared and expressed confusion because they thought there was an F1 case in the area.
Mr. Vu Hong Quang - Director of Quynh Luu District Medical Center said that Quynh Doi commune reacted too hastily in this incident.
"According to reports from the communes, on August 18, there were 12 passenger vans in Quynh Luu district that contracted with a unit to transport passengers from Nha Trang to Hanoi. On the evening of August 19, the van company informed that a passenger tested positive after arriving in Hanoi, so the commune heard this information and immediately issued a notice.
But the next day, the test was negative. But even if that person tested positive, the other bus assistant was not an F1 because they were on two different buses," Mr. Quang said, adding that after receiving information from Quynh Doi commune, the unit requested the commune to withdraw the document. Those related to the passenger buses that were taken to the medical station for centralized quarantine have also been returned to their families.

According to the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control, for more than 10 days now, there have been no F1 cases in Nghe An province. "If there are any suspected cases related to Nghe An, Nghe An CDC will be the focal point to receive information. After seeing the document from Quynh Doi commune, we contacted Hanoi CDC and this unit said that there were no positive rapid test cases," said an officer from Nghe An CDC.
