deserted country road
Like many other rural areas, these days, the large and small roads in Hung Tan commune (Hung Nguyen) are deserted. People only go out when absolutely necessary, otherwise "every family stays home" according to the spirit of Directive 16 of the Prime Minister.

Arriving at Lang Phan hamlet around noon, the village was really quiet. There was only the sound of loudspeakers broadcasting propaganda about stepping up epidemic prevention and control work, strictly implementing Directive 16 of the Prime Minister on urgent measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

“In addition to newspapers and social networks, the radio programs of the hamlet and commune regularly propagate ways to prevent and control the epidemic and update the epidemic situation, helping us raise awareness of compliance. I always remind my children and grandchildren not to go out to gather, to wear masks and limit contact with people, which affects the epidemic prevention work.”
According to Mr. Khoi, during the period of social isolation (from April 1 to 15), families in the residential area and relatives agreed not to organize weddings, engagements, and death anniversaries at homes not to invite others to attend. Every day, in the morning - noon - evening, people often take the opportunity to grasp the situation of the epidemic through the loudspeaker system.

Put aside daily habits
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong - Head of Lang Phan Hamlet said that in rural areas, the grassroots radio system has really played an effective role in propagating the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. Because farmers do not have much time to update information through newspapers and social networks, while local radio programs are still broadcast regularly and updated frequently.
The program content is closely related to the actual situation of the hamlet and commune, so it is always followed and implemented seriously by the people. Thanks to that, there are no large gatherings, even at entertainment venues that usually have dozens of people exercising and playing sports.

“It can be said that these days, people are temporarily putting aside their daily communal habits such as inviting each other to drink green tea; eating weddings and helping each other with housework to effectively prevent and fight the epidemic. This stems from people's awareness as well as the effectiveness of propaganda work, including local radio programs. Listening to loudspeakers, almost no one leaves their house.”
It is known that Hung Tan commune currently has 22 loudspeakers installed throughout the commune's 4 hamlets. Along with that, each hamlet has 10-11 loudspeakers, creating a dense loudspeaker network to serve propaganda work. The commune People's Committee arranged a propaganda team of 5 officers to take turns updating information about the epidemic, promptly disseminating the situation and epidemic prevention regulations to the people.
In addition, the hamlet management board has also proactively developed radio programs and content to disseminate and remind people in the hamlet to strictly implement. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, people have been regularly informed of important information three times a day through the commune and hamlet loudspeaker system.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam - Chairman of Hung Tan Commune People's Committee said: "Thanks to promoting propaganda work, especially promoting the effectiveness of the grassroots radio system, it has helped people raise awareness of complying with regulations on disease prevention and control. During the quarantine period, the roads were deserted, shops were closed, there were no large gatherings...".
