Nghi Lien prepares to reach the finish line of Vinh city's new model rural area

Nghi Lien is a suburban commune, the gateway to Vinh city, with a total natural area of ​​946.76 hectares. The whole commune has 10 residential hamlets, of which 8 hamlets are mainly directly engaged in agricultural production with 2,554 households and 10,414 people. In 1998, Nghi Lien was honored by the Party and State with the noble title of Hero of the Armed Forces, in 1993 with the Third Class Labor Medal, in 2002 with the Second Class Labor Medal and in 2003 Nghi Lien achieved the title of the first Cultural Commune of the province. In 2014, Nghi Lien was one of the two communes that achieved 19/19 criteria for building new rural areas in Nghe An province and was honored to welcome President Truong Tan Sang to visit. Currently, Nghi Lien is the first commune of Vinh city preparing to reach the model new rural area finish line. The commune is assessed by the city as having many breakthroughs in economic - cultural - social development.
